It can’t entirely fix the years of hatred and jealousy but equal treatment and unconditional love go a long ways towards making things better. Both boys are capable of forgiving the other at least a little bit, and with someone around to mediate and encourage better behavior, a much healthier relationship is possible with enough time and effort.
