Hearing your breaths turned pained, he instinctively pulled back, making a more shallow bite in the hopes of sparing himself those miserable sounds.
It was ridiculous that he was being so careful. It shouldn’t have mattered if his feeding hurt you. And yet, he couldn’t stand to hear the slightest bit of pain in your voice, stomach churning sickeningly at the thought.
Half furious with himself for being so weak, half delighted that you didn’t sound hurt anymore, Kou felt horribly conflicted.
