Ohh! How much of the boys sadistic behavior is a reflection of their upbring and how much is it the way vampires are? Basically Nature vs Nurture Given what we know about their world it seems to indicate that all vampires have some brutality in them but with the brothers it seems like the harsher the environment the more violent the tendencies

-I think that vampire society has some major issues. From what we see of it, they are pretty violent, brutal, and cruel. From my impression of it, I would also assume that their society is pretty emotionally stifling, like a “hide your feelings and be strong so you don’t get killed/betrayed” kind of thing. Their social relationships are obviously pretty messed up, and that’s likely what means that people like Karl and his wives can get away with what they do. 

From this perspective, I would say that it’s a little of both. Vampires do have their violent tendencies, but the way that they’re raised and taught how to behave also impacts things. The boys could be better if they’d been raised in a nicer environment, definitely, but the social structure of vampires has a lot to do with how they behave and they way they see the world.
