Prompt: Chained to a Wall

Character(s): Human Au!Subaru, Reader

Warnings: Torture, abuse, mild blood

Subaru had always thought he was strong. For years, he’d been tough enough to stand up to anything that came his way. His parents were one matter, yes, but no one else had gotten away with bullying him.

From the first time he’d punched another child in a fit of rage, it had been so easy to think that he was strong enough to be left alone.

You were able to pin him like his strength was nothing.

No matter how much he struggled, your grip was like iron. You could grab his hands and force them above his head, keep him pinned in place like he was as weak as a newborn kitten. You laughed when he tried to fight back, when he struggled, forcing him back down with ease.

A while ago, Subaru would have assumed that being manhandled in such a way would be humiliating. Now, he knew that it was terrifying.

He’d never felt so weak as when you twisted his arms behind his back and sunk your fangs into his neck. You acted like it was funny to watch him squirm, but for all he he knew that you could overpower him in an instant, Subaru couldn’t bring himself to quit trying to fight back.

So, when you grabbed him by the neck, shoving his back against the hard stone of your dungeon, he twisted in your grip, scrabbling pathetically with pale hands as you pressed harder and harder against his throat.

You smiled, and it was so soft Subaru knew he was in trouble now.

The cuffs went around his wrists with ease, fitting so well that Subaru knew that you’d gotten them just for him. Metal bit into his soft skin, sharp edges poking at him just enough to hurt. One loop of the chain around a hook high on the wall, and he was stuck, unable to do anything more than kick and wriggle helplessly, incapable of pulling away.

His hands were restrained, much too tight, pulled above his head, and even though his legs were free, Subaru knew that it would do him no good.

Even so, he kicked out, trying to hit you or push you away or anything that would mean getting out of what you were about to do. For all he knew, Subaru hadn’t done anything wrong, but you always found a way.

You yanked the chain even tighter, forcing Subaru’s hands too high above his head, straining at his shoulders painfully.

He yelped, cursing, and aimed one more miserable kick at you.

You calmly stepped out of the way.

“Come on, now. Do I have to gag you too? That filthy mouth won’t do, you know,” you laughed, and Subaru knew that you were very serious. He swallowed heavily and bit down something vicious and rude.

The idea of being unable to even speak didn’t sit well with him.

Your smile was mocking, and your hands were cold when they settled on his shoulders, pressing down just enough to draw a little whine out of him. You made a face like you were amused, and licked his collarbone with a cool tongue, inhaling deeply of what he could only assume was fear.

“Ah, you smell so nice when you’re nervous,” you crooned, and Subaru only barely resisted the urge to curse at you in indignant fury.

When you bit him, leaning in and piercing the soft skin of his neck with cold fangs, Subaru choked out a little whine. It hurt, worse than broken bones or busted knuckles ever had, pain all concentrated in one spot.

You licked at his neck for a long minute, draining him little by little with gentleness a true contrast to how roughly his hands were bound. Subaru started to get dizzy mere moments in. You’d been feeding from him so often, lately, it felt like there wasn’t enough left in him for you to take.

After making a total of three fresh wounds, each one of them stinging and dribbling warm blood down Subaru’s chest, you pulled away.

His shirt was going to be ruined, he thought, head too scrambled to provide anything more coherent. Those blood stains would never come out.

One of you cold hands traced a path up to his wrist, caressing the skin where the metal of the cuffs bit into it. You were smiling, still, and the expression was just mocking enough that Subaru bristled in anger. You held his hand for just a moment, so gently that he could hardly believe you were capable of it, and pressed a soft little kiss to his cheek.

“Scream for me now, understand?” you whispered, and pulled away.

Next thing Subaru knew, you were gone, vanished from the dungeon like you’d never been there. The room felt colder as soon as you were gone, and Subaru forcibly swallowed the sick little part that thought that.

It took a second for him to realize what had happened, but the reality sunk in quickly enough with you gone.

You’d left him there.

He was still chained up, arms restrained high above his head in an increasingly uncomfortable position, hands slowly going numb.

A spike of panic rose in Subaru’s throat. There wasn’t going to be a way out of this one, not until you decided to come back for him. If you decided to come back for him.

Rationally, he didn’t expect you to let your toy die in the dungeon, not after you’d been having so much fun tormenting him, but to his blood-loss addled mind, the fear that you would never come back hung thick and heavy. His body already felt like lead, too heavy and pained all over.

Subaru was starting to hurt more and more, twisted arms sending little shocks of pain all through him, neck throbbing with his heartbeat.

Before he knew it, he was calling out for you, voice much too loud in the silent room. No one answered, and the panic spiked again.

Scream for me echoed in his head like a broken record.
