What’s Criminal Girls about?

Thank you so much for the question, anon! 😀

Criminal Girls 2 is about, to put it simply, a program to reform bad souls. It takes place in a unique Underworld, shortly after a massive revolt of trapped souls that has the people in charge reeling. The main character (my player character is always named Yuri), wakes up in said Underworld with amnesia, and only a mysterious voice from a radio to tell them what to do.

The voice, a woman named Toko, tells Yuri that they’re in charge of one of the Reform programs, and that they have a group of seven “Delinquents” (souls that had the potential to be irredeemable, but died before they could do any real harm) to lead. Yuri meets the girls, all of whom start out barely believing that they could be dead and in the Underworld, much less on track to being doomed to stay there forever. It takes an attack from a Criminal (a soul that has been sentenced to an afterlife of torment for its crimes) to make them believe that the Underworld is serious.

From there, the story is a lot of character development. In order to Reform, the girls have to overcome their personal flaws and vices, and there are forces at play that are set on making them face every one. Worse still, there’s a strange girl named Enri who seems to exist only to trip them up at every turn, an authority of the Underworld with a grudge against the group, and a rumor that one of the seven might be a Criminal.

Now, from a player’s standpoint, the game is a lot of fanservice. Like, it’s borderline explicit. However, the plot is great, the characters are outstanding, and the development they go through is the best I’ve ever read. It’s really, really good, even though it’s pretty lewd.
