Admin Mawile: I like the way you think, anon! This prompt sounds very fun~ I’ll have to try to get to it soon…
Category: Uncategorized
Omg I hope this doesn’t sound weird but I was looking through some Bleach imagines and I found the blog @arranc_r and as I read through the imagines I was like wow this is really similar to dixbolik-lovers’ writing style??? AND IT TURNS OUT IT’S YOU!!!! :D I was so pleasantly surprised!!
Admin Mawile: Yep! That is me!!! (ゝω・)ノ @arrancxr is my Bleach blog, and actually, I have a couple other fandom based blogs floating around too… I kind of have too many.
Also I’ve been considering linking to my main, mostly because I’ve been doing a lot of writing for other fandoms, and I’d love to be able to talk about things that aren’t relevant to my fandom specific blogs. If I did share my main, would anyone be interested in talking other fanfic there? (。・ω・)
“Dragging themselves along the ground” (Bingo) reminded me of Ayato, Right after he almost drowns, he’s trying to quickly pull himself towards the Manor to prove even when he almost drowns he’s still the best. Idk Whatever you got for this one will be interesting! It could really work whatever fandom you want it too! (Reminded me of Etienne too, but he technically didn’t drag himself along the ground.) Have a frabjous day!
Admin Mawile: I already have something in mind for this prompt, but that you for the suggestion 😀 It’s a very good idea!!!
If you’re still taking the prompts, Laito & pleading before being bound and gagged >;)
Sorry, for the Laito one, could you make it nsfw? Only if you want to tho!
Admin Mawile: Oooh, I like this one!!! I haven’t made any of these prompts explicitly nsfw yet, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work (unfortunately, prompts can’t be combined, though)! Did you have any Au in mind for this, or would you prefer canon?
Opinions on Ruki please?
How I feel about this character
Admin Mawile: Eh, honestly Ruki has never been one of my favorites. It’s not because he’s not a good character, but because I just never have connected with him strongly enough. I will say that he’s a lovely character who has plenty of reasons for being likable, but I’ve never been very fond of him. He’s on my lowest tier of favorites, and I’m not crazy about writing for him, either. In my opinion, his best trait is his semi-decent relationship with his brothers.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Admin Mawile: As a mostly decent older brother, I honestly like his relationship with all three of the others. It’s just plain adorable that he goes out of his way to take care of them, especially after the… situation with the Sakamaki brothers. Ruki isn’t any nicer than any of the rest of them, but it’s still pretty sweet to know that he has some kind of genuine, sort of nice feelings down there, and that there are at least a few people that even a (admittedly not born) vampire will treat decently.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Admin Mawile: I find Ruki to be pretty boring. He’s never interested me, and while I can’t say if that’s because I’m just not sympathetic enough towards him or because he’s just not my type, it still stands that Ruki is among my least favorites of the boys. I’ve never liked him, and while that one thing where an anon shipped me with him did make me see some potential, he’s still far from being a favorite of mine.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Admin Mawile: Weeeeeelll, for pain’s sake, I could think of a few things… For one, I see Ruki as missing his birth family horribly, and the right situation that reminds him a little too much of his parents could potentially put some cracks in that cool, collected personality of his. If I’m being nice, I’d like to see him in a situation where he can feel genuinely loved again, but if I’m being mean… well, Ruki does have a lot of psychological trip wires that could be used for maximum angst potential. I think in general, I’d just like to see him break down a bit, preferably where he actually has to deal with the feelings instead of shoving them back down where they can’t hurt him.
(Look, we all know I’m here to make the boys suffer a little… in a fun way! :D)
Reiji?
How I feel about this character
Admin Mawile: Reiji is good, honestly. He’s been one of my favorites for a long time, and I really like him. However, he’s also kind of terrible, and while all the boys are violent and manipulative in their own ways, Reiji is kind of a special level of cruel. I find his character to be very interesting, and the reflection of how his mother treated him versus how he treats other people is a fascinating concept. I also am fond of the idea that Reiji is pretty much one step away from some kind of breakdown and generally pretty unstable, despite how composed he seems to be.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Admin Mawile: His dynamic with any of his brothers is very interesting to me! I find it fascinating how Reiji simultaneously detests being stuck with them, yet pretty much willing takes up the role of mother hen and makes sure that the household is functioning. It might just be pride, but Reiji really goes out of his way to take care of things for his family, even though they do pretty much nothing for him in return…. Also, I like the idea that Reiji needs to feel needed to function properly, and even taking care of his brothers fills this role.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Admin Mawile: Reiji is a better character than a lot of people give him credit for. He’s not perfect, of course, but he’s very interesting, and has a very interesting psychology to him. I don’t know if this is exactly unpopular, but I remember there being a lot of hate towards him in the earlier days of the fandom. Hopefully, that’s died down since then, but it still sort of feels like an unpopular opinion. Oh and! Unlike a lot of people I’ve seen, I’m not overly fond of the idea of Shuu and Reiji making up. Personally, I think that way too much has happened for that relationship to really be repaired.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Admin Mawile: Hmmm, well, a lot has happened over the course of DL, but I guess one thing that I haven’t seen enough of with Reiji (or really, any of the boys) is his weaker side. I mentioned earlier here that I see Reiji as pretty unstable, and seeing him fall apart a little more would be very entertaining, especially if he had to face some of his issues in the process. I’m all for torturing characters, and if I can make something painful, I probably will take the chance~~
How would the S boys behave if their mothers were pretty much the same personality-wise but they loved their sons and were more affectionate? Like Cordelia was still a b*tch, Beatrix was still stoic and pushy and Christa was still insane, but they did love their sons and were more open about it?
Admin Mawile: I assume you’re implying that the abuse and such didn’t happen? And I’m also going to have to consider that Karl is decent here too, otherwise I’m sure he’d mess everything up.
Shuu:
-Without being forced to study constantly and not being given any chance to be a kid, Shuu would have turned out a lot more well-adjusted. Assuming that the Edgar incident didn’t happen either, he wouldn’t be as depressed or traumatized, either. I can see this version of Shuu being a lot like his child self’; happy, cheerful, and nowhere near the tired Shuu we see in canon
Reiji:
-In a situation where he hadn’t been neglected and pitted against his brother, Reiji would probably turn out to be a capable, responsible young man who is much less bitter and cruel than the Reiji we see in canon. He wouldn’t be as desperate to prove himself as superior, for one, and wouldn’t have so much hatred and anger towards Shuu, either.
Ayato:
-If his mother hadn’t pushed him to be the best from such a young age, Ayato would be a lot different. He’d be much less arrogant and competitive without a reason to feel like he has to be on top, and he’d probably actually be a rather sweet kid, if a bit hot-headed. Ayato is more misguided than malicious to begin with, and with his issues gone, he’d probably not be too bad.
Kanato:
-It’s honestly kind of hard to imagine what Kanato would have been like if he hadn’t been horribly neglected, but I suppose the answer is that he’d be much more stable. I can imagine that he’d be less violent and possessive as well, since he wouldn’t feel like he had to fight for whatever attention he could get. He’d also probably be more mature, and behave less childishly.
Laito:
-A situation where Cordelia didn’t abuse him would change Laito’s character completely. He’d have no reason to want to be seen as a “pervert”, and wouldn’t have the messed up ideas on love, either. I see this Laito as being genuinely happy and fun, much like the facade that canon!Laito tries to put on, just with a lot less darkness lurking underneath the surface.
Subaru:
-Honestly, Christa did love Subaru in canon, I think, but if her issues were toned down to the point where she no longer did him as much damage, his mental state would be worlds better off. With no reason to hate himself or see himself as dirty or corrupted, Subaru’s self esteem issues would be pretty much fixed, and a healthier relationship with his mother would do him well.
xeno au w shu, reiji, ayato, subaru and kou: headcanons on how they’d discreetly get (request?) affection from their s/o?
Admin Mawile:ヾ(・ω・*) Assuming that this is when they’re attached!!
Shuu:
-The closest he’ll get to showing you that he wants affection is to more or less use you as a human body pillow. He doesn’t ask, just forces you to stay close to him. The reality is that it’s getting harder and harder to sleep without being able to feel you nearby, and even though it would crush his ego to admit it, he’s getting to the point where he legitimately needs you close to him.
Reiji:
-A bond like that is very difficult for him to handle, considering how few chances he’s had toe express or ask for affection. When it happens with you, the only way he can handle reacting is to get pickier and pickier about your behavior, coming up with stupid excuses for him to remain by your side, all while not realizing quite how transparent he’s being.
Ayato:
-There’s really nothing subtle about his attempts to get affection. At best, he’ll grab you and pull you into a hug, burying his face in your shoulder, but he tends towards more clumsy,, violent means when he gets frustrated. A bond is hard on him, as he normally wants all your attention, and the attachment just makes that need a thousand times worse.
Subaru:
-Wanting attention from you ends in a flustered, frustrated Subaru who does not know what to do. He’s never really tried to get anyone’s attention before, and all these fluffy feelings are quickly getting to him. He’s likely to wind up cracking and shouting something at you about wanting to spend more time together… then getting angry when he realizes what he did.
Kou:
-With his mental system of give and take, the main way he tries to get you to do something for him is to first do something for you. Thus, when he wants attention, he starts by drowning you in attention. It’s not hard at all to figure out what he’s trying to do, especially when you realize that he’s starting to act more and more childish about it, increasingly needy.
Admin Mawile: A dumb, late night headcanon for Xeno Au cause I’m tired and have been thinking about this stuff all day: Subaru and Ayato both express an interest in sleeping in small, dark, enclosed spaces. They’re both pretty insecure on the inside, and Subaru especially (who also sticks to his coffin the most), has both high levels of stress/unhappiness, and low levels of self restraint.
What I’m getting at here is that perhaps distressed or insecure vampires gravitate towards those kinds of places??? As in, it’s some kind of instinct to hide somewhere small and dark when they feel bad, and the only reason more of them don’t do it is because it’s considered “weak” or something.
…I’m going to sleep now.
Give me Yui she is the best
How I feel about this character
Admin Mawile: Yui is a sweet, precious angel who deserves the best anyone can give her. She’s brave, adorable, kind, and just all around the heroine this series needs. Yui is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise painfully negative story, and her presence changes so many things for the better. I love her for being both the sweetest little darling to exist, and the strongest, bravest girl possible in her situation. The anime does not do her justice in the slightest, and I sincerely think that anyone who actively hates Yui should take a good, long look at exactly why they feel that way. The answer is rarely good.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Admin Mawile: I’m fine with Yui and any of the boys as a platonic relationship. I have a special fondness for her doing something to fill the need for attention that the unfortunate way they’ve been parented has left behind, and it’s just plain cute to imagine the boys making a sort of decent friendship with someone as sweet as Yui. I’m okay with most romantic pairings for her too though! Yui is just one of those characters that works out nicely with everyone.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Admin Mawile: Honestly, I don’t think any of the boys are really ready for a romantic relationship. They all have major issues of their own, and while Yui definitely does have the potential to be a positive force in their lives, I think that they should figure themselves out a lot more before becoming tied to someone else in such a way. Yui, in my opinion, would be better as a friend than a partner, and it would probably do the boys a lot of good to have a healthy, positive, non-romantic relationship for once in their lives.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Admin Mawile: Yui’s whole character is kind of a walking power fantasy of being able to win over a damaged pretty boy by being nice to him, so why not make full use of that? I would love to see Yui winning against everything that tries to bring her down… and only using kindness to do it. She doesn’t have to be badass or cruel or sadistic; what I think would be most powerful would be for her to win with nothing but love for those she meets. Seeing her defeat the evils in front of her with ease, and without ever having to so much as raise her voice. That would be the kind of “strong” I think Yui is best at.
