Ayato:
-In the middle of the night, when the triplets should have been fast asleep, you felt something crawling up onto your bed.
Rolling over, you were met with a pair of green eyes glowing in the darkness. It was Ayato, staring at you like he’d been caught doing something horrible, with a frightened look on his face that told you everything.
“You okay, hon?” You asked, meeting his wide eyes.
“Yeah… um, Kanato was rolling around a lot, s-so… “
“Oh, that makes sense. Do you wanna stay here with me?”
Ayato gave no response, merely flopping over onto the bed where you wouldn’t be able to see his face anymore. You had a feeling he’d had some kind of bad dream, but was too prideful to ever admit it.
Kanato:
-Not long after going to bed, you felt a distinct tug on your shoulder, a tiny hand intently shaking you awake.
Rolling over, you were met with Kanato’s tearful face, tiny sniffles and whines still escaping him. He looked horribly distressed, latched onto Teddy for dear life, and you already had a guess as to why.
“Did you have a bad dream, sweetie?”
The only response you got what an audible sob.
“You can stay here with me if you want.” You said, softly.
Almost immediately, he was glued to your chest, scrambling up into you bed and latching onto you even tighter. The sobs continued, but slowed, as your comforting presence was finally enough to calm him.
Laito:
-When you woke up sometime in the early, still dark morning, the last thing you were expecting was the feeling of being watched.
From somewhere beside you bed, you saw a small silhouette. Upon close inspection, it was Laito, kneeling beside you and looking up at you with shining, wide eyes. He looked afraid, and almost immediately, you realized why.
However, you knew pointing it out would get you nowhere.
So you rolled over, pretending to still be asleep, and waited.
Mere minutes later, you felt him climbing up onto you bed, curling up behind you, still shaking from whatever awful dream he’d had.
You knew better than to point any of this out. Laito was very hesitant to show you his real feelings, and making a big deal out of him coming to you for comfort would only end in losing whatever little trust you’d earned.
Subaru:
-At some point in the middle of the night, you were awoken to a soft shaking at you shoulder, so gentle you almost didn’t notice it.
As you opened your eyes, the first thing you saw was Subaru, tear tracks running down his face, eyes red. He looked afraid, and you recognized that expression as a sign of a very bad dream.
“Are you okay? Was it a bad dream again?”
“Mmhmm,” he whined, “C-can I please stay here.”
“Of course.” You scooted over, making room for the boy.
Despite being hesitant to impose on you, afraid that your willingness to indulge him would run out, Subaru slowly laid down next to you. Closing his eyes and snuggling up close to you, he finally looked at peace.
