I love this blog! Keep up the good work! I was wondering how in the pet!au humans came to be dominant over vampires and founders?

Admin Mawile: 「(゚ペ)

-At some point ages ago, humans established some small measure of superiority. Maybe it was just not being seen as food anymore, maybe it was something more dramatic, but that small event slowly escalated into outright dominance, with humans gaining more and more power over supernatural creatures. Eventually, humans started to breed said creatures to be less aggressive and weaker, disposing of individuals that didn’t cooperate, leading to the heavily weakened, biologically trained pets of the modern world. It was a slow escalation of power that changed everything, and one that happened over enough time that the creatures never saw it coming.

What’s acceptable in terms of affection between an owner and a pet in the pet au?

Admin Mawile: ヾ(〃゚ー゚〃)ノ

-While, in the public eye, there’s an appropriate amount of distance that owner are required to keep, it’s more for the sake of the owner’s reputation than anything to do with the pet itself. In private, humans can do whatever they please with a pet that they own. As vampires and other creatures are seen as much tougher than humans, they can be treated however an owner pleases, and affection is no different; if a human chooses to be affectionate with their pet, its entirely their business.

This is for the Pet Au. What would happen if the pets are unsellable? Would they just kill them or something?

Admin Mawile: (๑ ˊ͈ ᐞ ˋ͈ )

-Yes, pets that can’t be sold or exceed their own worth with the cost of keeping them are put down. If a pet can’t be profitable, few people see any reason in keeping it around. Vampires specifically are intelligent, potentially dangerous creatures that have a high cost of keeping them, and few breeders or sellers are willing to put up with a pet that isn’t worth anything. The most common excuse is that it’s kinder to put a pet down than let it live in a shelter or breeder’s establishment it’s whole life.

I’ve also noticed there hasn’t been any pocket!au questions in a while. With that said, can you give us some general headcanons on what a possible owner might want to do in terms of giving the pocket vampires some physical exercise? (I can’t see being stuck in a cage as very healthy for them).

Admin Mawile: (* ゚∀゚)ノシ

-Most owners buy toys to keep their pocket vampires occupied, the deigns of which can range from climbable equipment to balls and small objects not unlike toys for cats. Vampires tend to be intelligent enough to keep themselves occupied, and the majority of owners leave them to themselves with enough toys to keep them out of trouble.

-However, depending on how smart your pocket vampire is or how interested you are in interacting with it, there are other options. Small enclosures can be purchased for taking your vampire outside, and there are a variety of toys and activities that require the owner’s participation. For more intelligent vampires who are bored with normal toys, these may be the only options.

for the xeno au: would the s&m boys act any differently to their bonded/attached s/o in terms of being sadistic to her? and if they she didn’t like it or smth (idk curious)

Admin Mawile: (๑´•д • `๑)

-That depends on the level of attachment. In extreme cases, massive behavior changes for the sake of pleasing and keeping the person the vampire is attached to can occur, but generally, the changes are much smaller and more subtle. Unconsciously, the vampire may begin to hold back or be more gentle with the person they’re attached to, but usually only on such a level that they’re hardly aware of it. If you’re extremely displeased by the rough treatment, though, that may be enough to scare some more gentle handling out of them, instincts protesting the very real chance of losing you. The individual vampire’s personality also must be taken into account, as more weak-willed individuals may give in to their instinct to please more easily.

Xeno au! How do the boys react when another vampire tries to bite the person they’ve bonded with?

Admin Mawile: (・∧‐)ゞ

-That would be extremely upsetting for any vampire, and trigger a possessive sort of aggression meant to get the competitor to back off. Any vampire would be annoyed at the very least for something like that to happen, and most would be absolutely furious, driven by the desire to keep the one they’re bonded to. Trying to bite that person is a massive invasion of what belongs to them, and it’s going to very nearly end in a fight if the other vampire doesn’t back off.

Are xeno au vampires behavior/moods affected by the person they bond with? For example, if they made them upset, would the boys feel especially bad? Or if their s/o is happy, would that also reflect in the boys’ mood? I love this au!

Admin Mawile: (´∀`) Thank you!

-Yes, they do. It’s not exactly an automatic connection, though. The desire to keep the person they’re attached to happy is what causes it, an instinctive drive to keep the person who’s been kind enough to bond to. If that person isn’t happy, it could mean that they’ll leave, and thus the drive to fix that kicks in, spreading worry and doubt in the vampire’s mind until the person is happy again. If the attached person is, happy, the instincts are satisfied as well, content to know that they’ve done things right. It’s impossible for a vampire to be calm when they’re bonded to is upset, and in the strongest of attachments, that person’s happiness becomes the main cause of their own.

Do vampires have any humanistic functions? Like hiccuping for example

(๑ˊ▵ॢˋ̥๑)

-I would assume that, for the most part, they do. Overall, vampires seem to function like humans, and those kind of functions are sort of just innate to the physical layout. Like, if you have an esophagus and vocal cords and assorts parts like humans do, the same functions are going to come with it. The only exceptions I can think of are magic related.

I have a couple questions about the child au, hope its not too overwhelming orz What’s the living situation like? Is there one parent substitute for each of the three families (s,m&t) or one for full siblings (the triplets, shin&carla, reiji&shu)? What happens during a full moon? Are vampire children already stronger than humans? How do they handle sunlight? Do they already have familiars and if yes are the familiars also still juvenile?

Admin Mawile: (*゚∀゚*) Oooohhh nice questions!!!

-It’s whatever the reader wants to picture! I wanted to leave the set up more open ended and able to adapt to various situations, so the reader’s situation can be whatever you’d like to think of it as.

The full moon does mostly the same thing, enhancing the kids’s budding powers and making them more aggressive. With children, though, that aggression is more likely to manifest as hyperactivity and bad behavior.

In some ways. Physically, the stronger ones are about the same as an adult human, but magic and other powers quickly put them ahead. However, kids can’t use those powers very well, and many of them have fresh memories that would prevent them from doing anything to fight back, even against a human.

Sunlight is uncomfortable, stinging sensitive eyes and feeling just plain wrong to nocturnal creatures. It won’t do them any real harm, but they burn easier than human kids, and don’t like the light at all.

They most likely have a variety of weak familiars, ones that can actually be controlled by a young, inexperienced vampire.

Hello, in regards to the Xeno AU attachment instinct, I was wondering, would the attachment have any effect on the vampires wanting the person who they were attached to’s blood? As in would they be more likely to desire it or would it have absolutely no effect on that aspect of their psyche? Or would the response simply vary from vampire to vampire? Thank you, I hope you have a nice day! I simply love this AU 。^‿^。

Admin Mawile:╰(・∇・╰) Thank you!!!!

-Feeding involves a rather intimate connection, and yes, a bond would absolutely affect it. More so than craving the blood, the vampire would be more interested in the connection it can bring. Within vampire society, this effect has been almost erased from common knowledge, seen as weakness and something that should never be spoken of, so there would not be any awareness as to why the bonded person’s blood is so compelling.
