how would the xeno vampires react to forming an attachment with someone who wants nothing to do with them?

Admin Mawile: (´°ω°`)

-It would be extremely painful to be attached to someone and not be able to be close to them. Attachment demands closeness and contact, protection and deepening of the bond with the person that brought it on. Not being able to have any of this is practically torture, and would eventually escalate into mental agony so powerful it would become physical pain. Fortunately, it’s almost impossible to form that kind of bond without reciprocation, so that is a very unlikely event.

What do Pocket au vampires do for fun?

Admin Mawile: (*^▽^)/

-There are a variety of toys owners can purchase for their pocket vampires, but really, it’s not difficult to keep them entertained. Vampires are predatory animals, much like cats, and something as simple as a crumpled up piece of paper can make enough noise and movement to keep the less sharp ones entertained. Many of them are smart enough to enjoy more human past times too, and sharing some of your favorite activities can work just fine.

In xeno au, how would one meet a xeno vampire? do they live in houses or do they tend to make their own shelter outdoors? Also, where is the line between pleasure and pain when it comes to their wings? I know a gentle tap can be very painful or very pleasurable.

Admin Mawile: (ᅌᴗᅌ* ) Ooooh nice questions!!!

-Xeno au is mostly the same as canon, save for vampires and other creatures being much less human. The set up is the same as canon still, and vampires are really more like monsters masquerading around in human skin than humans that just happen to have powers and drink blood.

-A lot of what determines whether a touch is painful or pleasurable is intent. A cruel tug is going to feel very different than a light, loving one. The vampire’s state of mind can also trick them into them into feeling pain; if they’re afraid, anything short of absolute gentleness can hurt. Finally, personal preference means a lot. Someone like Azusa will enjoy yanking and pinching, but more delicate vampires would find it excruciating.

Can you describe (or post pictures) of how you see each boys wings and colorations in your Xeno imagines please? Xoxo

Admin Mawile: ∩( ・ω・)∩ There are more differences than my picture really shows, little individual things mostly, but I have neither the time or energy to draw all that. Pls forgive the identical lineart. Also, Carla’s wings are pretty wrecked by the Endzeit, and this is what they looked like before that.

-Wings are generally the same color as hair, are covered in a light, soft layer of fuzz, and have thin, pink skin underneath that. Morphologically, they’re very nearly the same as bat wings, with the biggest change being how they attach to the back; merging into the shoulder blade area instead of acting as an arm. They’re overall extremely delicate, mostly due to how thin and fragile they are, but brain chemicals and instincts play a role too.

Are pet au vampires forced to be awake during the day?

Admin Mawile:( ̄~ ̄;)

-Yes, but by now, vampires have been bred to be much less nocturnal. Generations of forcing them to adhere to human schedules have all but erased the need to sleep during the day, and it’s only vaguely uncomfortable to push aside instinct and sleep when they’re told. The worst part is how bright sunlight is on sensitive eyes, and the unconscious desire to gravitate to dark places.

Oh! For child au, do the boys ever go back to being their normal age? How would they feel about their caretaker now? Do they still see them as their caretaker?

Admin Mawile: (・o・)

-That depends on what you want the plot to be! I’m not a fan of set endings for my Aus, but if that was one, they would be absolutely horrified upon returning to adulthood and remembering what they’d done. The humiliation of knowing how vulnerable they’d been for you, how much you now know about every weakness, both individual and inherent to the species, is almost sickening. They’d still be attached, yes, immensely so, but the shame and anger and fear would not make that easy to admit to. If you could break through the pride and fear, then yes, it is very possible for them to go back to truly seeing you as a trusted caretaker. The difficulty of this varies by character.

So for pet au, would you say the best way to take care of the pets if you want them to be as stable and healthy as possible is to treat them as pets? It seems they tend to freak out if you treat them well but treat them more as a roommate than a pet, since that’s all they’ve been taught they are. I think it varies (Shu probably is the one who would prefer to be more allowed to do anything he wants), but for mental well being would treating them as actual pets be the best course of action?

Admin Mawile: (‘~`;)

-Yeah, it might be better to stick to treating them like pets. If you’re going to introduce more human-like behavior, you have to do it very slowly. Being a pet is their entire world view, and changing any of that too quickly is just cruel. It’s removing the one thing they’ve been able to rely on for security and self worth, and turning into something totally different all at once. If you want to be as kind as you can, start by being a gentle owner, and move on to treating them like people only once they’re secure in their place with you.

Pocket Au question: How does one feed their pocket vampire?

Admin Mawile: ⊂((・▽・))⊃

-Pocket vampires need blood and human food just like their counterparts. They don’t eat a whole lot, so it’s very easy to keep them fed. Small amounts of human food a couple times a day (healthy things! snacks are fine, but don’t just give them junk) will more than suffice, and you can either buy blood from specialty pet stores or let them feed from you. Pocket vampire bites are nearly painless, and feel no more uncomfortable than a minor prick. Their fangs are too small to pierce very deep, and they only take a few drops of blood.
