Thank you for taking the time to answer my pet au questions! I have a few more if you don’t mind! What happens to pets when their owners die? How are they named? By the parents, the sellers, or the owners? Are pets trained to handle emotional situations from their owners? Like if an owner started crying over something, is it the pet’s ‘duty’ to try and comfort them? If an owner gets injured in some way, are pets trained in ways to help? Are pet-sitters a thing? Is there pet-specific clothing?

Admin Mawile:ヾ(●・◇・●)ノ Yay!! More good questions!

-Just like a cat or dog, they’re either re-homed, sent to a shelter, or put down. Special varieties like First Bloods will be sold off to another owner, and the deceased’s friends and family have the option to take an abandoned pet. If no home is found, they’re either given to a shelter or put down.

-Some breeders name their stock, but most refer to them by some kind of serial number. Names are more common among the fancier varieties (that people are willing to put more effort into), and an owner can always name/rename a pet. The only exception are certain show pets that have a history tied to a certain name and would have to keep it. Parents are kept away from their offspring as much as possible to prevent unnecessary bonds.

-It would depend on the pet. Some are trained to have a function similar to service dogs, while others (usually low quality) are taught to be used as “stress relief” for their owners, usually in rather violent means. Since vampires are very tough physically, it’s very easy for regulations regarding treatment to be avoided (it’s not anything can actually hurt them), and there are many horrible violent practices. Generally, though, they would expect to be beaten for being in the way of an upset owner, or worse, causing the upset in the first place.

-Again, it would depend on the pet. Some are trained to handle those problems, others would only know to stay out of the way and not make anything worse.

-Pet sitters are absolutely a thing. The qualifications and care would obviously be different than someone watching over a dog, but yes, they exist. However, I would assume that there’s a lot of unpleasant people in that practice.

-Yes! Pet specific clothing is usually simple and loose, just enough to cover vital areas while staying out of the way. Different varieties of pets, like treasured purebreds and show pets have a wide variety of outfits available, but for any kind of pet, the clothing is specifically made to not look too much like anything a human would normally wear.

Reaction from the boys waking up finding there S/O nuzzled up next to them and realizing she sneaked into there bed while they were sleeping

Admin Mawile: (*´・v・)

Shuu: Whatever. It just means the bed is warmer. He honestly might roll over on top of you, if not ignore you altogether.

Reiji: After a brief moment wondering if he can pass this off as his idea, you get shoved out of the bed and thoroughly punished.

Ayato: He’ll let you stay, but you’re getting bitten for your troubles. Not to mention forever teased about it.

Kanato: He immediately starts screaming at you for invading his room and touching him without permission.

Laito: Don’t do that. Don’t enter his room, don’t even touch his bed. All it will get you is trapped there for a while.

Subaru: Either panic and shoves you out of the coffin altogether, or takes the easy opportunity to bite you.

Ruki: He’s too tired to bother getting rid of you at that moment, but when he’s had some more sleep, you’re in trouble.

Kou: Of course you can stay! As long as you’re willing to pay for the trouble with you obedience to him.

Yuuma: Probably doesn’t even wake up. There’s a chance he’ll roll over on top of you though, and that’s just painful.

Azusa: He stays very, very quiet, and as far to “his side” of the bed as he can, so as not to bother you while you’re sleeping so peacefully.

Carla: He’s a deep enough sleeper that you’re fairly likely to get away with it. Just leave before he can wake up and get mad.

Shin: Bites you, very painfully, and then throws you quite literally out the door do you can’t bother him anymore.

I have a few questions about the Pet AU if it’s not too much trouble to answer >u< Are pets able to speak? Or do most of them have some sort of impediment like canon Azusa? What do they look like, compared to their canon counterparts? Are they smaller due to mistreatment and being malnourished? Are they trained to be able to do basic things, like brush their hair or use the bathroom? Do they have hunched postures? What does it take for a human to adopt a pet?

Admin Mawile: (๑✧◡✧๑) These are some good questions.

-Yes, they are able to speak, but their vocabularies are rather small, more so for the ones who haven’t been raised as well. Carla and Shin are by far the most well educated, and can speak almost as well as humans. The Sakamakis are better than most, but still stunted compared to a person. The Mukamis only know basic language.

-Vampires are tough enough to withstand the poor care fairly well, and are nowhere near as malnourished and small as a human would be. They are still slightly smaller and much thinner than canon, but mostly they’re the same.

-Pets are trained to use basic facilities, but whether or not they’re allowed to use them is up to the owner. Better quality pets are always better trained, but it’s the owner’s decision how much independence they’ll be allotted. Some pets are allowed to use a toilet like a human, some are forced outside like dogs. Some have regular grooming as part of their routine, some are left to fend for themselves. Low quality vampires like the Mukamis may not be trained as well, though.

-Typically, pets aren’t allowed to stand. It’s considered rude to be physically higher than an owner, so pets are taught to crawl and never raise themselves above a human. Many of them, especially the older ones, have difficulty standing up straight, and some don’t know how to stand or walk on two legs. Crawling posture is trained to be perfect.

-It depends on the quality of the pet. Purebreds and fancy varieties like First Bloods can cost massive amounts and require excessive paperwork. Low quality pets are as easy to get as a cat or dog. There are very few regulations on pet care, and it’s even easier to abuse or neglect a pet once it’s owned.

What kind of childish traits do the guys have in the child au? They’re probably not all sadistic and harsh anymore but do they struggle with child things like suddenly wanting a hug or needing help to open something or wanting to show off the smallest accomplishments (like a drawing)? Sorry if the question’s confusing I struggled with phrasing it in English orz

Admin Mawile: (ᅌᴗᅌ* ) You are absolutely correct!!

-In Child Au, they are all actual children and definitely act like. Though most of them have been forced to tamp down any “weakness” it’s very hard to stop a child from being exactly that. The abuse they’ve suffered impacts their behavior a lot, and even simple things like asking for help or craving affection are difficult and perceived to be shameful. What you described is exactly how they are, needy and lonely and desperate for the kind of love they aren’t even aware they want. They cling to anyone who’s nice to them, struggle to control the emotions that they’ve learned are bad, and are no longer able to hide the softer feelings that lurked deep under the surface of their adult selves,

How would the boys react if while sucking their s/o’s blood she suddenly hugged them close and kissed them on the forehead and told them regardless of whether or not they accept or want it she forgives them for all the harshness and cruelty they’ve put her through

Admin Mawile: (◍•ᴗ•◍)

Shuu:

-He completely ignores the attention and keeps feeding. You’re stupid for pitying him, and even if something in his chest aches just a little at your words, you really are just a foolish human for being so soft and forgiving. All the more reason for him to break you.

Reiji:

-You’re going to be punished for daring to speak out of turn. Whatever made you think he’d be interested in the forgiveness of a mere human very clearly needs to be beaten out of you until such a foolish, such a ridiculous thought is banished thoroughly from your mind.

Ayato:

-He freezes up for just a moment under the kindness, mind screeching to a halt at how utterly unexpected your words are. He quickly recovers, and laughs off your pathetic forgiveness like the worthless thing it is, but he still can’t quite think through the shock.

Kanato:

-Immediately, he bursts into a screaming, crying fit, one that probably involves a lot of your pain. He’s furious that you dare to reach out to him, dare to think that your forgiveness or love would ever mean anything, and you’re going to pay for making him feel so strange and pained inside.

Laito:

-He smiles and laughs and asks if you really mean it, if you can really forgive such a cruel vampire for anything he could do to you. If the threatening, empty smile on his face doesn’t give you pause, you’ll dearly regret affirming him, as now it’s basically permission to test your will.

Subaru:

-He instantly pulls back and looks at you with such shock you almost expect to be struck. He can only barely stutter out a response, and despite the furious glare he’s giving you, the intense blush across his face, shaking fists, and frozen shut throat say the may not just be angry.

Ruki:

-Silently, he steps away from you and fixes you with a look so frigid you can’t help but flinch. Touching him, reaching out to him without express permission and for a reason as ridiculous and forgiveness is a transgression worthy of a true punishment, one to completely erase that thought.

Kou:

-He quickly laughs off the forgiveness and keeps biting. There will be plenty of time to deal with that stupid way of thinking later, after he’s had his fill of your pain. Once he’s done, though, that foolish offer of yours is going to be twisted around into something that benefits him alone.

Yuuma:

-If he doesn’t burst out laughing at the ridiculousness of that statement, he just keeps feeding like nothing happened, but maybe even more roughly. It’s practically a joke that you’re offering forgiveness, and even if he does feel just a little strange about it, you’re just being a stupid human.

Azusa:

-While any attention for you is always welcome, he’s rather confused by the offer of forgiveness. He’s never tried to hurt you, do you mean that he’s been bad? He’s only ever tried to give you good things, and the idea that he’s been hurting you in a bad way is sickening.

Carla:

-For daring to touch him, he digs his fangs in deep and hard, growling, and tearing at the skin. You’re being awfully presumptuous by assuming that your forgiveness means anything, and the sudden attitude will have to be beaten out of you before it can take root.

Shin:

-Like your forgiveness matters any to him. You’re being awfully arrogant assuming that he’d ever care what you think, and that line about forgiving anything is just asking to be tested. You’ll find out just how “cruel” he can be to sassy little humans who don’t know their place.

How would the boys react to their s/o being in a needy overly cuddly mood?

Admin Mawile: (=^・ω・^)

Shuu:

-As long as you’re not expecting him to actually do anything, fine. Your warmth makes for a nice pillow, and if you can sit still and not bother him, he can indulge you for a little while.

Reiji:

-Reiji hates any physical affection that wasn’t initiated by him, and all you’re going to get for trying to cuddle with him is punished. It’s bad manners for you to be so pushy, and you need to learn that.

Ayato:

-He’s all too eager to reciprocate, but you should fully expect to be bitten, tortured, or both. Selfish as he is, your wants come second, right after anything and everything he finds amusing.

Kanato:

-For daring to try to touch him without permission, you’re going to get screamed at and most likely brutally punished. He hates when you try to act on your own, and attention seeking dolls are just annoying.

Laito:

-He’s more than happy to indulge you, but it’s not going to stay as just cuddling for long. It might seem like a good choice at the time to come to the friendliest of the vampires, but there is going to be a cost.

Subaru:

-If you’re lucky, you’ll be harshly shoved away and ignored. He’s not the sappy sort, and cuddling for no reason other than you wanting attention is the very picture of a stupid, pointless idea.

Ruki:

-While paying attention to you is fine, it’s only allowed on his terms. Livestock isn’t allowed to think for itself, and demanding affection is far beyond your meager rights as his property.

Kou:

-He’ll willingly indulge you for a while, but after the pleasant few moments are over, he’s going to expect some kind of repayment. It’s better not to go to him in the first place, because you won’t like what he demands.

Yuuma:

-He might go along with what you want, but not in a very nice way. The best you can expect is being slung over his shoulder and hauled around like a sack of fertilizer until he gets bored or hungry.

Azusa:

-He’s more than happy to spend time with you. Your attention is the best thing he can ask for, and making you happy by just spending time with you seems almost too good to be true.

Carla:

-The only thing you’ll be getting is punished. Carla is not one for physical affection, especially not at random, and even asking is a very good way to get something very painful for your trouble.

Shin:

-As long as you’re willing to pay up for it later, he might be willing to go along with it. Paying attention to you isn’t that much trouble, and if he’s getting easy blood for his efforts, he can play nice for a bit.

Ruki can you tell me something funny what happened to your brothers ? 😄

(๑ゝω╹๑) This isn’t an rp blog, but I’ll try to come up with some sort of Ruki POV stories!!

-Thanks to Kou’s idol business, there are frequent (and very aggressive) female visitors that have somehow tracked down his current location. Very few of them find his actual home (and the ones that do don’t live long), but it’s still highly annoying to be suddenly swarmed with shrieking, shoving girls when the family is just trying to get some shopping done. The only amusing part is when they get feisty enough to actually grab some articles of clothing from their idol.

-Yuuma seems like the kind of tough person that’s impossible to bend or manipulate, but Ruki has learned that the easiest way to push what he wants is to threaten Yuuma’s precious garden. It may be rather cruel, but having a guaranteed way to force even the violent Yuuma to obey is worth the looks of utter panic on his face when he hears that his vegetables might have to suffer for his bad behavior.

-Azusa doesn’t seem to have bad moments. Everything he does he’s either perfectly serious about or so miserable that it’s impossible to find any joy in it. Yuuma’s aggressive and Kou’s roundabout ways to protect him are amusing in their own ways, but Azusa himself is just too…strange to do anything worth laughing over on his own.

How about a bit of girl time with Yui, if that’s okay? Maybe Yui could have a friend to hang out with, somehow getting away from the vampires for a bit. What would they do?

Admin Mawile: (ノ*゜▽゜*) Awwww~ This is writing reader as said friend, okay?

-Thanks to a life of being constantly bitten and terrorized, Yui doesn’t really have the energy for normal friends. She’s usually some degree of exhausted, and the idea of hanging out with friends again just sounds tiring. She would like to have more of a social life, but it seems difficult to find people willing to put up with someone who’s always tired and anemic.

-Considering the above, you’re going to have to accommodate Yui’s low energy levels when hanging out. Anything more difficult than a little bit of shopping is too much for her, and you’re really better off just staying home and finding something quiet to do, like doing each other’s nails, watching cheesy movies, or swapping stories about annoying people in your lives.

-Yui has a lot to complain about, and you’re very likely to wind up listening. Even when practically ranting, she never says anything more mean than calling someone “difficult” or “confusing”, and you will soon be very sure that she’s the kindest, most tolerant person you’ve ever met. That, and you’ll probably want to punch the vampires that hurt her.

how would the S, M, and T brothers react to Yui PMS-ing?

Admin Mawile:(⌒▽⌒ゞ I can’t see Yui having the really bad PMS. I bet she just gets emotional and cries a lot, without most of the nastier effects.

Shuu: It’s annoying when she starts crying for no reason, so he just stays far away from all the drama.

Reiji: He prefers to fix the problem quickly, with drugs to shorten her menstrual cycle and lessen the effects of it.

Ayato: The one who makes Yui cry most of the time, thanks to brilliant ideas like pointing out that he chest is still hardly visible.

Kanato: He’s the only one who’s allowed to cry for no reason, and he doesn’t take kindly to anyone else trying it.

Laito: Mostly makes awful comments about things that also make Yui cry. No help at all in calming her down.

Subaru: He tries to be considerate, but considering his explosive temper and lack of experience at comforting people, it doesn’t go well.

Ruki: He doesn’t like to deal with the emotional side effects, especially when even he knows that punishment won’t fix anything.

Kou: He’s pretty used to unstable women, and that means he knows more than enough to want to stay away.

Yuuma: Firmly insists that fresh vegetables will cure everything, despite knowing worryingly little about what Yui’s problem is.

Azusa: He’s extremely sympathetic, but has no idea what will actually help. And offering knife wounds isn’t exactly the best strategy.

Carla: It appears that he just ignores the problem, but Yui might find her symptoms suddenly eased.

Shin: He thinks it’s funny that she’s so upset by something so small, and would probably laugh at any PMS pain.

child au boys reaction when their new “mom” pats their head and praises them for the first time?

Admin Mawile: (。・ω・。)ノ♡ Awwww~

Shuu:

-For all the hours he’s spent endlessly working and studying, the amount of praise he’s received for those efforts is very low. He doesn’t understand why you want to praise him when he hasn’t done anything to deserve it, but the attention is so nice he’s not going to bring that up.

Reiji:

-His eyes get very, very wide, and his hands clench so tightly on the book he’s holding that the pages crumple and tear. He brushes off the praise with a callous remark, but you can see how his hands are shaking, and how he can’t quite focus on the words in front of him.

Ayato:

-He’s so shocked he actually freezes up for a moment. Some empty boast about what he’d accomplished dying in his throat from the surprise. Once he recovers, all you’ve done is encourage him, and now he’ll be convinced that whatever he did is the way to get your affection.

Kanato:

Any affection is likely to end in him glued to your waist, practically pleading for more, and praise is just as effective. He’s so starved for attention that even the most off-handed compliment feels like the greatest honor in the world, and you won’t be leaving without him in your arms.

Laito:

-He’s a little more used to attention, but the genuine praise still affects him more than he’d like to let on. It’s not smart to let adults know how he really feels, but he can’t help the tiny, natural smile forcing its way onto his lips, nor the look of real joy that escapes for a moment.

Subaru:

-You can’t really mean it. You have to just be pretending to get something from him. He never does anything that good, not good enough to deserve this. He’s shaking a bit, and won’t look you in the eye, delighted, but sick with the worry that there’s going to be some cost.

Ruki:

-The memory of his parents doing the same thing hits him sudden and hard, and he’s sinking to his knees and sobbing before he can think. The memories feel fresher than they have in ages, raw and aching with the reminder of what he’s lost, only helped by the kindness he has now.

Kou:

-When your hand first reaches out to him, he flinches, jerking back like he fully expects you to hit him. Some coaxing later, he lets you pat his head, still shivering a bit and acting like he wants to lean up into your hand but can’t quite find the courage to do it.

Yuuma:

-It sort of feels like someone has done this before, but the memory won’t quite match up… The attention is still nice, though, and he can’t help but squirm and flush under the praise. He’s noticeably happier for a while, still floating on the joy of his most important person being pleased.

Azusa:

-He instantly leans up into the touch, eyes wide and almost sparkling. Any time you pay the slightest bit of attention to him is wonderful, and the praise makes him feel almost dizzy, light-headed with joy and slowly pressing up against your chest so you can’t let go.

Carla:

-Outwardly, you hardly see a reaction beyond a very slight widening of his eyes. Inside, he falling apart a little over what may very well be the first genuine praise he’s received. His father wasn’t one for giving compliments, and actual affection is a sadly new concept.

Shin:

-Of course you’re praising him. The arrogant line he gives sounds a little shakier than it should, though, and you catch him eyeing your hands like he hopes you’ll do it again. He’d never admit to being so needy and pathetic, but he can’t help but hope for more praise.
