since finding this blog, i think your pet!au is so interesting! but seeing mentions of yuma being used for hard labor and subaru potentially being a fighter in illegal fight circuits got me wondering what each pet would be ‘working’ as, if they managed to avoid the put down. what would each consider their ideal ‘career’ (in MASSIVE air quotes) and what would be a nightmare? thanks so much for running this blog, really appreciate your efforts! :D

Admin Mawile: ✧٩(•́⌄•́๑) Glad you like it!! Pet Au is my favorite too

-To start, the ideal “career” is always house pet. The ones that stay inside, don’t have to do physical labor, and are more or less cared for because their owner doesn’t want them dead. There are disadvantages to that kind of life too, yeah, but it’s a lot better than being literally worked to death or killed from sheer negligence. BUT, the kind of people that want house pets are picky. They want small, harmless things that are purebred, delicate, and don’t even look like any kind of threat. They want what’s more a good looking ornament than a living creature, and pets that look too dangerous, don’t have a good history, or aren’t pretty or vulnerable looking or countless other selective things are the ones that hardly have a chance.

The worse situations, the ones that usually befall the pets that can’t achieve house pet status, those tend to be either outright cruel or fatally negligent. Vampires are strong, so they’re useful in hard labor. They can be “employed” for much less cost than humans, because there are few rules regarding safety or health. Due to that extreme lack of regulation, they can be easily used for anything from product testing to barely legal “escort” services. Then there are the illegal operations, the ones that have former pets fighting each other to death for the entertainment of spectators, the ones that are even more horrific than that. There aren’t many “good” options, really.

Shuu:

If he wasn’t put down for being too lethargic to use, and wasn’t lucky enough to have an indoor home, he’d likely wind up as cheap labor. Nothing special or prized, just one more way to save money. Likely not extreme physical work, though, more like some kind of factory.

Reiji:

-He’s destined to be a prized house pet, of course! With his good breeding, delicate features, and perfect obedience, there’s no more suitable option. If he was thrown away, though, he’d likely end up in the kind of illegal activity that values good looks…

Ayato:

-He’s well bred enough to easily be a house pet, but so far, hasn’t had much luck in that pursuit. Quite possibly, Ayato’s best option will end up being nowhere near as pleasant. Probably not anything outright horrific, just another average situation where he means very little.

Kanato:

-He’s cute, tiny, and the very picture of a house pet. Too small to be useful for most labor, and too mentally fragile to take much of anything, house pet is really Kanato’s only option. Fortunately, being the treasured doll of a doting owner is the best sort of life he can picture.

Laito:

-He’s well behaved and well bred enough to have house pet as his greatest use. He’s not strong enough to be worth much in labor or fights, but so obviously a purebred that certain other kinds of illegal operations would find him to be an excellent asset.

Subaru:

-Subaru has a history of violence and misbehavior that make it near impossible for the good kind of home. He has been deemed unsafe to own, even, thanks to his violent outbursts. Other than death, his only foreseeable future is a fight ring, where that kind of aggression is appreciated.

Ruki:

-If he wasn’t a stray and a low quality breed to begin with, he would have been an ideal house pet. He’s pretty, gentle, quiet and easily obedient, and almost certainly would have found such a home. But as it is, some kind of non-physical labor is likely his best option.

Kou:

-Thanks to his poor quality of breed, he couldn’t have been a house pet. Thanks to his good looks and specific history, the kind of life he had in the original shelter would have been his future; being tortured and used for the entertainment of humans.

Yuuma:

-Thanks to his size and power, his only future is hard labor. Yuuma is seen as intimidating and dangerous to the owners that want house pets, so his best use is being quite literally worked to death. Other than that, a fight ring or similar illegal business is his only other option.

Azusa:

-His small, fragile body and delicate looks make him seem like a house pet, but he’s far too damaged for those kinds of owners to take interest in. Most likely, he’d wind up in the type of awful place that makes its business off of the suffering of the creatures it keeps.

Carla:

-Due to the rarity of First Bloods, they’re almost exclusively kept as private pets, and most are used for shows. With his good looks, said shows are his most probable future. No one wants a special breed like him dead, so it’s highly unlikely he’d ever end up as anything but a house pet.

Shin:

-Like Carla, Shin is too valuable to wind up anywhere other than a private home. His missing eye blocks any career in showing (too damaged), so a wealthy owner with a taste for the flawed is where he’ll end up. Worst case scenario, that’s the kind of owner that likes to hurt.

Hey, okay so how would all the brothers react to their s/o apologizing like “I’m sorry what happened to you when you were younger.” In terms of how they were abused? I know asking for all the boys is a lot but I didn’t wanna send like three separate asks in. You can do it in parts if that’s okay or if you wanna just answer a few brothers I’d still be thankful. Thank you ❤️ sorry I made this kinda long ^^”

Admin Mawile: ー(°◇°〃)

Shuu:

-You honestly won’t be able to tell if he was awake to hear you. Shuu very rarely takes out his earbuds to listen to you to begun with, and mentioning his past will only make him ignore you all the more. There’s no reason to think about it, let alone listen to some human’s pathetic apology.

Reiji:

-And who gave you permission to discuss his past? Are you the type of person to unabashedly intrude in the privacy of others, hmm? Whether it was tragic or not is none of your business, and because you’ve brought up even the mention of Shuu, now he’s in a terrible mood.

Ayato:

-He’s furious at the perceived pity. Your intentions may have been good, but all Ayato sees in them is an insult, and he reacts accordingly. Anything that even approaches the topic of his mother should be considered off limits, if you don’t want to suffer the brunt of the negative feelings it brings up.

Kanato:

-His reaction is a full on screaming fit. He didn’t allow you to bring any of that up, and unless you act quickly to pacify him, you’ll be on the receiving end of one of his nastier moments, and likely end with some new holes in your skin for your efforts to comfort him.

Laito:

-He’ll outright deny being upset by his past, insisting that he turned out all the better for experiencing love first hand. He acts as unbothered as ever, but, like with any mention of his history, that empty smile is soon followed by unimaginable cruelty.

Subaru:

-And what do you think you know? He’s filthy, and no worthless apology is going to fix that. He’s furious from thinking about his mother again, angrier yet that you can assume that words from you would fix anything. You know nothing about the matter, and you should keep your mouth shut.

Ruki:

-You don’t see much of a response from him, but you will be punished for stepping outside your place. You have no right to apologize for that, let alone propose the topic without permission. What you don’t see is how his scars to to ache, throbbing in time with your awful, pitying gaze.

Kou:

-Well aren’t you being awfully forward. At first, he doesn’t seem all that upset, and may even laugh the matter off. But inside, he’s somewhere between sick that you know and furious with the pity and presumptuous “understanding.” When the anger does come out, it’s not going to be pleasant.

Yuuma:

-There’s nothing to feel sorry for. For one, it’s all over and gone, so there’s no need for you to be so pitying about it, not to mention why you think some stupid apology would make any difference. He doesn’t need your sympathy, and it doesn’t mean anything to begin with.

Azusa:

-He honestly doesn’t understand what you’re sorry for. Everything that happened to him was deserved, and he even discovered the joy of pain along the way. To Azusa, his past is no tragedy, and even trying to explain why you see it as one won’t do any good.

Carla:

-There’s nothing you should be pitying. His history was just as it should be; the proper training to assume the title of king, not any kind of tragedy of abuse. He refuses to acknowledge any kind of trauma, and while he may let the initial apology slide, pushing the matter won’t end well for you.

Shin:

-He doesn’t need any kind of comforting for his past, and even if he did, what makes you think you’d be the one to do it. It’s hilarious that you’d even think to try! But, since you’re getting confident enough to do such stupid things, it means you must need to be shown your place again.

I like those cuddle headcannons a lot, could we have some for Reiji, Carla and Subaru please?

Admin Mawile: (ノ*゜▽゜*)

Reiji:

-He likes the contact more than you’d expect, but will absolutely never let on to that. Any affection he gives you is carefully doled out rewards to ensure your continued compliance, physical comfort for your sake, never his. What kindness you manage to get from him is either preceded with or followed by an equal, if not greater cruelty.

-When he does indulge you, he’s shockingly affectionate, all gentle hugging and close contact. You’re mostly sure it’s just another means of tricking you, making you think he could be kind, but sometimes it almost seems like he’s enjoying the embrace more than you are. Oddly enough, he tends to be more affectionate directly after “punishing” you.

Carla:

-He’s not really one for showing affection (at least not while you’ll be able to remember it), seeing it as a show of weakness that he can’t sacrifice his pride to indulge in. If you do get lucky enough to cuddle with him, it will be made very clear that he’s doing this on a whim to keep you functional, not because he wants it. Humans do need physical contact to thrive, after all.

-In those rare instances, you’re treated more like a doll than a living person. He’ll hold you however it’s comfortable for him, with little care as to how it might feel to you. He’s surprisingly clingy and affectionate once he gets started, and much less rough than you’d expect, but that doesn’t quite make up for the arm that’s rapidly going numb and painful.

Subaru:

-You’re never in a position where you can see his face or gain any semblance of control. You have to be pinned against him, where he can do whatever he wants to you and you can’t so much as turn around. It might be because he doesn’t want you seeing any possible embarrassed faces, but it’s definitely because he likes to bite you while you can only helplessly struggle.

-He tends to fall asleep while cuddling you if it goes on long enough, and shortly after, he’s clinging, nuzzling into your neck and making noises that have to be some kind of vampire thing. This would be much better than how he treats you while awake, if it wasn’t for the fact that sleeping Subaru tends to hug much more tightly than is pleasant.

May we have some Yuma, Kou, Ayato, and Laito cuddle headcannons c:?

Admin Mawile: (๑꒪▿꒪)*

Yuuma:

-He’s less likely to “cuddle” as he is to just pick you up and not let go. One human’s weight is hardly an issue, and he can carry you around for hours before he gets bored. It might sound kind of nice to be held by him, but do know that that most often entails being slung over one shoulder like you’re little more than a light load.

-When he does cuddle the normal way, it’s as warm and affectionate as a cold, violent vampire can be, all strong limbs holding you close and quiet, happy noises muffled into your hair. It’s a little bit like being hugged by a bear, maybe, somewhere between comfortable and suffocating, too much strength in the arms holding you to quite be relaxing.

Kou:

-He’s clingy, holding onto you like some kind of living pillow and murmuring all kinds of empty praises. As long as you cooperate and let him do what he wants, it’ll stay nice, all hugs and nuzzling into your neck and almost purring. But, complain even a little bit, and he just might have to show you what he could be doing, and why just cuddling is nothing to make a fuss about.

-His most loving moments are the ones that are faked, false smiles to win you over to doing what he wants. He can easily pretend to be the perfect, loving boyfriend, attentive to your every response and perfectly gentle. It’s when he’s upset, rough and nasty and forcing his way, that you really see the desperation to be close to you, the dependence that only surfaces in his worst moments.

Ayato:

-Any kind of cuddling he does is more pushy than loving, half way holding you down, and far too rough. Ayato doesn’t quite know how to interact without forcing his way or making you comply to his wants, and even in the times where he’s desperate enough or in a good enough mood to try to be nice and indulge what you want, his efforts are clumsy.

-He holds onto you like a little kid, face smushed into your chest and grasping at your shirt. His kind of cuddling is pushy and overwhelming, hugging roughly and clinging so tightly it almost hurts. Sometimes he bites when pressed against you, fangs digging in to your soft skin painfully, but, to him, one of the closest things to comfort he can let you see.

Laito:

-Way, way too touchy, whether you like it or not. He’ll hug you however he feels like, let his hands end up in inappropriate places, and any complaints from you seem to just amuse him. Laito doesn’t really take no for an answer, and even when it comes to something as “harmless” as cuddling, he’s pushing your boundaries in countless tiny ways.

-Some nights, when you’re so out of it you can hardly remember by morning, all he does is hug you, pressing his face into your neck and breathing unsteady and shivering. He’ll pass off whatever you do recall as a bit of fun in the night that you were too wore out to remember, but there’s something very different about the fuzzy images of how tightly he was clinging to you.

What qualities in other people make Carla the angriest? Are there any qualities he won’t tolerate that he himself has?

Admin Mawile: Σ( ̄ロ ̄)

-Carla was, in many ways, raised to be perfect. He always had the weight of being king hanging over his head, his father’s pressures to be exactly what he was told he should. Carla came to value propriety, duty, over a sense of self; he does what he has to, not what he wants to, and more often than not, he expects others to do the same. He’s short tempered, perfectionistic, easily frustrated, and just as harsh on his perceived personal failings as he is on those of others. In his mind, anyone who isn’t pushing aside their own wants and needs to do what’s “best” is a disgrace.

He can’t stand laziness, despite his own propensity to the trait. Emotional, easily swayed people disgust him, even as he subconsciously covets their freedom and spontaneity. Gentleness and mercy are met with scorn, yet he himself once had to fight the very mentality. Often, the qualities he hates the most are the ones he either struggles with in his own self or deep-down wishes he could have.

Can you do a Genderbend Headcanons for the Sakamaki

Admin Mawile: (^・ω・^ )

Shizuka:

-She will still fall asleep in the strangest, most uncomfortable, most in the way of everyone places imaginable. Sometimes, she’s really just to exhausted to move anymore. Sometimes, she just likes hearing Reina scream about how “unladylike” it is to take a nap with her feet on the table. If anything, she’s even more petty and vengeful towards her younger sister.

-”Feminine” things, like personal beauty matter very little to Shizuka. For a girl who can hardly manage to stay awake most days, any kind of extra work seems like an insurmountable challenge. Finding the energy for anything more than what she already manages just might kill her, or so she thinks, and she’d rather spend any extra energy finding new music.

Reina:

-She’s every bit as fussy as her male counterpart, but even more particular about being the perfect lady. Reina is always collected and presentable, and never allows anyone to see her at anything less than her best. From a perfectly primped appearance to eloquent, intelligent speech, she goes above and beyond to always appear perfect.

-Beauty products, especially makeup, are a major interest of hers. Her vanity (while perfectly organized) is near overflowing with assorted products, all of which, Reina insists, are essential to maintaining her everyday perfection. She takes very good care of herself from skin care and makeup, to elaborate manicures and thick, ultra-soft hair.

Ayako:

-Despite a childhood of being kept away from them, Ayako loves sports. Basketball is her obvious favorite, but anything where she can move and compete brings her a kind of joy that not many things can. Cordelia insisted that athletics were unbecoming of the future queen, though, and Ayako was only able to pursue her interest after her mother’s death.

-She’s not the best, she’s the fucking queen, and anyone who doesn’t bow will be forced. Years of being told that all she’d ever be was a trophy wife, a queen that only exists to be married off and please her husband made Ayako all the more determined to rule by her own strength. She hates the idea of being dependent on anyone, and her ego can’t stand being indebted to anyone.

Kanako:

-She has a bit of an irrational hatred of men, and she’s not very willing to change it. The only males Kanako knew in her childhood were her father and uncle, and both were so remarkably awful that she developed the idea that all men had to be just as bad. Her temper is twice as nasty around men, and there’s a sort of churning fear that she’d hate to admit to.

-Aside from Teddy, she has countless stuffed animals and dolls, almost all of them with names, personalities and roles. Some of them are made from dead things, but regular plush friends for Teddy are just as loved. She makes many of her own toys, and wile dolls are beautiful in their own way, she prefers soft, plush things that can be hugged and carried around.

Laiko:

-For some reason, she actually tries to take care of her sisters… in a weird, more self-satisfying than helpful kind of way. Maybe it’s to make herself feel important, maybe she really does like being the second stand-in mom of the household, but Laiko is about the only one of the group to do anything to help the others. Although, the definition of her “help” is loose.

-She’s almost never home, preferring to spend time at parties, social gatherings, even plain old malls if it means avoiding her family. Laiko loves her precious sisters, of course, but it’s just so noisy and bothersome at home. She’d rather be out somewhere, surrounded by a crowd of adoring men, where her love is actually appreciated.

Suzuki:

-She once chopped off all of her hair at the roots in a fit of rage, and the previously hip length tresses have never again passed her shoulders. Suzuki is uncomfortable with feeling pretty, not only because she’s too disgusting to ever really be it, but beauty is what (supposedly) caused her mother’s imprisonment, too lovely for her father to resist.

-Suzuki a rather tiny woman (like her mother), and she hates it. Her size, shoulder height or below on most men, makes her feel small and trapped, far too vulnerable to ever be comfortable with. To begin with, social encounters are anxious, uncomfortable affairs, and only reaching the chin of whoever she’s talking to only makes it worse.

Hello! For the pet AU, i was wondering if you could tell us a bit more about Yui’s work at the shelter, especially how she interacts with each of the vampires (and perhaps, what they think of her?) Thank you! I really like your blog!

Admin Mawile: (⌒▽⌒)☆

-Yui isn’t allowed to do anything high risk (because liability and her age), so most of what her volunteer work entails is just basic chores, the kind of things that are by no means glamorous, but need to be done to keep the shelter running. She cleans cages and kennels, fetches supplies, tidies up around the shelter, helps feed the pets, and spends time with the ones that aren’t too traumatized. Most of her duties are just simple, yet essential chores.

For the vampires that don’t have food issues, Yui helps with feedings, delivering blood bags and more human food as specified, sometimes having to coax/reassure them into eating. She handles some grooming too, like brushing their hair or wiping their faces after a messy meal, and for the vampires deemed safe enough to handle, she spends time with them, getting them more used to humans, and trying to show that not all humans are cruel.

Most of the vampires in shelters have experienced some degree of trauma. They don’t trust, are afraid of, or even actively dislike humans, and many shouldn’t be handled by anyone other than those trained in how to do it. The ones that Yui can get through to like her immensely for her kindness and gentle, peaceful nature, but many just never warm up to her, too afraid to let themselves trust a human and risk getting hurt again.

Can you tell us what some of the powers first bloods have? What is the magic that Carla possess? (It can be made up idc I just need info for my fanfic. Much love ty ty xoxo)

Admin Mawile: (ノ*゜▽゜*) This is a mix of canon and guessing!!

-First Blood powers, especially magic, seem to be incredibly diverse. The most common ability we see is the shapeshifting (Shin spends a lot of time as a wolf), and although Shin’s wolf from is the only one I know of seeing, both brothers can transform into a wolf, snake, eagle, or bat, with those four animal representing the four clans of magic beings (maybe just vampires??? i don’t exactly remember aaa).

Vampires to begin with have supernatural strength and speed, enhanced healing abilities, Familiar control, teleportation, hypnotism, mind control, and various other abilities that seem more unique to individuals, like Kanato’s fire. First Bloods are exactly that, the route species of the other four, and possess abilities of all four clans. They can do what the vampires can and more.

Carla’s magic has been shown to be destructive enough to smash through walls and do all kinds of damage, but also useful for for mundane purposes, like making magical flowers in place of fireworks. I think he knows a variety of types, ranging from the combat oriented to the practical to the just plain showy and entertaining. He has massive amounts of power, but the Endzeit weakens him to the point where much of it is hardly usable.

*slides another one dollar bill* also could u give me headcanons about yui where she’s dating a cute girl ty!!!

Admin Skitty: *slides back the bill* Please, it’s my pleasure!!

– Yui is very fond of painting her lover nails, even if it’s just applying a layer of clear coat, and having them done in return. She’s not very interested in sporting wacky or flashy designs, but if her girlfriend paints them she wouldn’t mind. She’s fond of these moments when you’re both indulged in each other and handles your fingers with utmost delicacy, after all you’re very precious to her.

 – Cooking meals together is one part of your relationship Yui really enjoys, even if you haven’t mastered the art of cooking. Your help is very much appreciated by her in the kitchen. The time you spend together making such heartfelt meals make her extremely happy. Sometimes, she even likes to surprise you with a home-cooked meal she’s prepared on her own, hoping you’ll enjoy a new entrée she’s put all of her love into.

 – Cuddling becomes a daily routine in her relationship, and she revels in it, huddling close to her girlfriend is a comfortable pastime for her. Whether you’re watching movies, spending your time reading, or preparing to sleep, she’s always willing to hold her love close.

– Surprisingly, Yui is someone who is fond of couple’s clothing. She loves to match with her girlfriend, but becomes flustered with the idea of wearing it out it public. So you both decide to settle for couple pajamas, they’ll do.

-To Yui, dates are not an absolute necessity. Being in your company and going anywhere with you is bound to be absolutely enjoyable. But, a surprise date where you both visit an animal shelter and volunteer for a while would make her immensely emotional. She would be incredibly happy to share her care amongst all of these animals, hoping to give them the love they deserve, but the best part to her would be sharing this experience with you.

– She likes to have her girlfriend play with her hair, running her hand through it after a while might even make her doze off. As long as her love is comfortable with it, she would be overjoyed to return the favor and has even taken to styling it herself. It’s quite cute to see how pleased she is when she has successfully pulled off her own little ‘masterpiece’ you adorn.

 – While Yui is religious and is full of compassion in her beliefs, she’s open and is very respectful that you may have different views than her. Whether you believe or not, attending church with her and involving yourself within something she holds so much care for, truly makes her fall deeper in love with you.

– Definitely not one to flirt blatantly, if you do, her face is almost certain to bloom into a blush. Although she might not be one to openly present her affection to you, she always does so through her actions and never once fails to make any of her girlfriend’s insecurities melt away.

– Scrapbooking has strangely become a hobby she’s become enamored with lately. She desires to fill pages full of pictures of you both in your happiest of times and takes extra care with placement and decorating. Time to time you may find her flipping through one she’s already completed, calling you over eagerly to reminisce over some of the funniest happenings that have happened in your time spent together.

– When it comes down to PDA Yui becomes extremely bashful, mouth-to-mouth kisses make her shy away especially. Yet, if she’s feeling courageous her girlfriend may be surprised by a cheek kiss some times. Behind closed doors is another story and she is always willing to be affectionate with the person she holds most dear.

*slides u a one dollar bill* could i get some yui headcanons please

Admin Mawile: o(*>ω<*)o Yui!!!

-She has the unhealthy tendency to put others before herself, even when she really shouldn’t. It’s something she’s tried to work on, prioritizing her own needs instead of wearing herself ragged taking care of others, but Yui naturally wants to see everyone happy. It’s very hard for her not to do whatever she can to achieve that, even when it winds up making her miserable.

-Her life has been extremely sheltered. Besides the church and her father, she had very limited social interaction, her access to media was strictly monitored, and she was kept too busy to make many friends. Yui wasn’t unhappy, devoting her everything to school and the Lord, but her social knowledge and experience with the world are both rather stunted.

-Although she’s debated how moral it is, Yui is sassy on the inside. She’d never say any of it out loud, but she regularly has a biting commentary going on in her head. She’s observant, and intelligent enough to string together sharp, truly hurtful comments, the kind of things that she almost feels in sinful to think, for it being so rude to others. Especially while living with a certain group of vampires, it’s one of her greater sources of entertainment.
