For the Pet AU, do owners ever make any aesthetic changes to their vampires, like painting their nails, getting their ears pierced/any other piercings/jewelry, or applying makeup on them to accentuate their more non-human features? If so, how would our boys feel about having any of that done to them? (I love your blog, BTW. Your writing is excellent!! šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ)

(Ā“,,•ω•,,ļ½€)Yes, that is most definitely a thing! I imagine that it’s most often done to expensive breeds, or otherwise treasured pets that an owner would be willing to spend their time fussing over. It would definitely be typically seen as a big privilege/sign of favor to the vampire, too.Ā

Shuu:

-That kind of decoration isn’t something he would have expected anyone to bother with for him. It feels sort of weird to be so fussed over, to be treated like something precious, like it’s not really meant for him.Ā

Reiji:

-The pride in his eyes at being treated like that is visible. Such rewards are reserved for only the most favored of possessions, and he’s ridiculously pleased to be considered to be something so wanted.Ā

Ayato:

-Any attention is good attention, in his mind, and this is no different. It feels a little stuffy to be prettied up in such a way, but if it means that his owner wants him, he’s more than happy to be good and put up with it.Ā

Kanato:

-Being treated like an owner’s doll is probably the best thing that could happen to him. He’s not being hurt, and he gets to stay still and have no other expectations but looking pretty. It’s an amazing deal.Ā

Laito:

-He doesn’t trust his owner’s intentions for a second, but it’s not so bad to be fussed over. Nothing immediately awful is happening, and even if the good part won’t last for long, it feels good to be spoiled in such a way.Ā

Subaru:

-It’s beyond hard to believe that anyone would want to waste their time making him pretty. Decoration and spoiling feel like things that were never meant for him, even if it’s surprisingly nice to be taken care of.Ā

Ruki:

-His opinions on the fussing are mostly neutral. It’s more a tool to please his owner than anything, and since it means that he’s gotten into their good graces, he takes the spoiling as a very good sign.Ā

Kou:

-The humans who hurt him before always talked about how pretty he was, and this is similar enough that it’s bound to make him panic. He’s torn between being delighted at the attention, and terrified of what might come next.Ā

Yuuma:

-He’s not exactly the type to be all done up, and it feels kind of weird to be on the receiving end of that kind of fussing. Still, it’s good attention, even he can recognize that, and there’s no way he’s going to ruin it.Ā

Azusa:

-He’s never had a chance to be pretty in his life, and he’s beyond grateful that his owner wants to spend their time taking care of him. Perfectly cooperative, he happily accepts whatever decoration his owner sees fit.Ā

Carla:

-That kind of decoration has been very common in his life, and it’s more something that he’s just had to get used to. Because of his rare breeding, and good looks, fussing and prettying are all too common from humans.Ā

Shin:

-Like his brother, he’s dealt with plenty of this kind of thing before, and he hates it.Ā He doesn’t have much of a choice but to sit still and take it, but being treated like some human’s toy isn’t something he appreciates.Ā

Pet au. “Stay” Ayato. Pretty please!

13.Ā ā€œStay.ā€

Done!! Thank you so much for the request ā¤

It takes him a stupid amount of time to realize that she isn’t coming back, that this time, he’s really been abandoned for good.

Ayato’s owner had taken him to a park, small and isolated, out of the way. He’d been so happy that she’d taken him out for once, instead of leaving him locked up somewhere dark and alone because he could never be good enough. But then, she’d had him sit down beside a bench, told him that she’d be right back, and to ā€˜stay’ and be good until she returned.

The sky had gone dark since then, and she wasn’t back yet.

Ayato had spent a while being patient, hoping that she wouldn’t leave him here for too long, that she’d be back soon and would take him somewhere else nice. But time had passed, slow due to boredom, and Ayato had begun to get a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He’d gone from patiently waiting to squirming anxiously, eyes fixed on the street nearby.

He’d hoped, though, that the feeling was wrong. He’d hoped that he was just being too needy again, and that she’d be back and take him home, and maybe only complain a little that he’d made trouble for her again.

But the park only grows darker. The air only gets colder. She doesn’t return, and Ayato starts to think that he’s going to be sick.

He’s waited so long that he’d never find her, Ayato thinks, panicking. He hasn’t walked these streets before, and he’d never find his way home now. Even if he got up and forced himself to try to get back to her on his own, he wouldn’t make it. Shaking from cold and fear, Ayato stumbles over broken thoughts on what he could possibly do now.

It’s sinking in, little, by little, that he’s been abandoned. Maybe, maybe she hopes he won’t make it back. Maybe he’s finally been thrown away like she always threatened she would. Fear rises bitter in the back of Ayato’s throat. She always just shut him in a room when she was angry before, only threatened to leave him somewhere and not come back. Ayato realizes that his hands are shaking. He feels close to throwing up.

So he lays down, dirt hard under his chest, and curls up. If he stays here, if he’s good, someone will come back for him.

She told him to be good, and this time, he’ll be sure to obey.

He wishes she’d take him back. Even if she had to beat him like his birth home did when he was bad, it would be better than being all alone. Like this, no one would ever want him again. Everyone would know that he’d been thrown away, no owner would want to deal with something so rotten.

There’s panic tightening his chest, making it hard to breathe. Ayato forces himself to stay low and curled up, to keep himself warm. Someone will be back for him, they have to. Even if it’s not her, someone.

And he’ll be patient and good until then.

The idea that Pet!AU Subaru and his mom were separated after bonding kills me. What if his new owner also owned his mother and brought him home and Subaru sees his mother?

(*“ω`*) Here’s the post that this is referencing!

-Subaru would have never expected to see his mother again. He knows that it’s normal for his kind to not get to have any relationship with their parents, but for the short time he was allowed to be with his mother, he got painfully attached. He’d be beyond grateful to be able to be with Christa again, but unfortunately, he mental state is another matter entirely, and there’s a good chance she won’t remember him well enough to treat him anything like she did when he was younger. The rejection would hurt, of course, but Subaru is well aware of exactly what kind of trauma his mother has gone through.Ā

I’m not too confident with the other one but here’s Reiji—

CUTE!!!! A good draw!!!! I love it a lot and the way you drew his hair is great!!! Thank you so much for sharing this!Ā (ノ^惮^)ノ*:・゚✧

Can I request a Pet AU scenario for Kou if someone showed up to one of the sessions where he was tortured as a child (perhaps being drug along by a family member or something) and just feels so bad for him that they decide to buy him – or, if the people running the orphanage won’t let them, literally just steal him? How do you think he would feel about that?

Admin Mawile:Ā (*ļ¾Ÿāˆ€ļ¾Ÿ*)

-The vampire on the floor is too small, too skinny, all big blue eyes and matted hair. He looks up at you like he thinks you’re going to kill him.

You have the sickening feeling he has reason to think that.Ā

When you kneel down in front of him, the vampire squeaks and shakes, looking like he wishes he could scramble away. His eyes are impossibly wide, and he looks even smaller and more thin, fragile up close.Ā

ā€œI’m buying this one,ā€ you say, and there’s no room for argument.Ā

The vampire looks up at you with panic in his eyes, as if he’s expecting you to hurt him at any second.Ā

Instead, you keep your distance, smiling gently and trying not to spook him any more. He’s shaking already, and you don’t want to do anything to make the situation any worse for the poor thing.Ā

You’re going to help.Ā

I remember that in an au pet publication, you mentioned that chicoas usually wear very simple clothes. How would you feel if new owners are those who are always buying you very beautiful or even ridiculous clothes, like those people who sometimes dress up their pets?

Admin Mawile: (tdodt)

Shuu: It doesn’t matter how you dress him, really. All he cares about its if he’s getting hurt or not, and what kind of discipline you see fit to use.Ā

Reiji: Since most owners only bother with providing so much for pets that they intend to keep… he takes the whole situation very, very well.Ā

Ayato: He’s ridiculously pleased that you feel the need to treat him like something valuable, and wears whatever you give him with pride.Ā

Kanato: When it comes to what you want him to wear, he’s compliant as a doll, honestly just delighted that you want to pay attention to him.Ā

Laito: It’s a very good sign that you’re putting so much into his care, and he’ll comply with almost anything if it means keeping his home.

Subaru: No one has ever paid so much attention to him before, and he can barely believe that you want to treat him like something precious.Ā

Ruki: He’d never go against what his owner wants him to do, especially not something so simple, but it does feel a little funny to wear such things.Ā

Kou: He’s more than a little afraid of your intentions, but the clothes themselves don’t bother him. If anything, it’s sort of nice to be taken care of.

Yuuma: It feels a little funny to have such nice clothes, but it’s not like he’s going to complain when you’re doing something so openly affectionate.

Azusa: He’s as happy and willing as can be, so pleased that you’re paying attention to him that it doesn’t matter what you want him to wear.Ā

Carla: It’s perfectly normal for a pet as expensive as a First Blood to be dressed well, so the situation isn’t unusual in the slightest.Ā

Shin: He’s pretty used to having nice things to wear, and takes whatever you choose for him with no complaints. He knows better than to make a fuss.Ā

Hello! I having a problem to imagine how the Diaboys look in Pet Au. Did they look like antro animals, or what? O_O Sorry, I just can’t think properly about them x”D Didn’t find any info, only that they have tiny wings and can cook and clean up house.

Admin Mawile:Ā This has actually been mentioned before! The Au is that vampires are now on the not-so-good side of the human-vampire equation… and nothing else is really different. They still look humanoid, and just might be a bit smaller/weaker due to selective breeding~

In the pet au, would the boys be able to have romantic feelings towards their owners?

Admin Mawile:Ā ( ̄▽ ̄)惎

-That’s kind of a complex topic. It’s relatively normal for pets to have romantic relationships with their owners, since they’re sapient creatures who are very easy to take advantage of. However, the issue of consent is a big one. The pets are inherently in a position that makes it very hard for them to refuses an owner’s advances, whether they’re wanted or not. They’re likely to feel like they have to accept what their owner does to them, or that they have no choice, and getting them to understand that they can say no to you is an issue in and of itself. So yes, it’s possible for them to have romantic feelings, but it’s all kind of clouded by the trauma they’ve been through.Ā
