Pet au: What places are acceptable to bring pets to? What if their owner tries to sneak them into a place by having them act human?

Admin Mawile: (o゜◇゜)ノ

-Since vampires are a lot more human than most other pets, I think the standards would be a little more loose than with a cat or a dog. As long as they’re properly trained, it would depend on the establishment and their opinion on where exotic pets like vampires belong.

As for making a pet pass for human, that would be rather difficult. Most are trained to know their place and never step outside of it, and it wouldn’t be easy for one to find the confidence to pass for human. The majority of pets cower away from humans when they feel like they’re doing something wrong, and trying to pass for human would cross so many lines in how they’ve been taught to behave. It would be a very stressful experience for them.

Pet au: Would Kou have a pet Instagram? If so how popular would it be? And how comfortable would he be posing? I know I would follow.

Admin Mawile: (●ゝ∀・)ノ That is a precious idea~

-If his owner decided to make one for him, Kou would be initially very nervous. He’s not used to the idea of one person liking him, and so much attention from an Instagram would be very intimidating to him. Eventually, he’d grow to like the small amount of fame, especially once he got more used to his owner, and he’d probably wind up being pretty popular. He’d come to enjoy posing for pictures and making himself useful to you, even more so if you were willing to show him all of the attention he’d get from it.

Would the strays hair be knotted and matted? If so once they get a home how would the mukamis react to that very first grooming?

Admin Mawile: (。・∀・)ノ゛Yes, their hair would be pretty matted. They don’t get much care on the streets, so it would naturally be fairly tangled and dirty.

Ruki:

-He’s probably the most cooperative, and understands what you’re trying to do fairly quickly. He hasn’t been clean in longer than he can remember, and it feels amazing not to have a knotted hunk of hair weighing him down. If he’s feeling brave, he’ll even politely thank you for getting him clean.

Kou:

-While he’s highly skittish when it comes to being handled, he’s much happier when he’s clean, and may actually calm down and let himself be washed once he realizes what you’re trying to do. He doesn’t trust you one bit, but it’s awfully nice not to be all filthy and matted from years of hard living.

Yuuma:

-He’s plenty used to being dirty, and doesn’t care too much if he’s clean or not. Admittedly, it’s pretty nice to have his hair un-tangled and out of its nasty matts, but it’s not like he would have been too upset if you hadn’t bothered. It’s strange to be so taken care of by a human like you.

Azusa:

-He loves being taken care of, regardless of if you want to hurt him or not, and is nothing short of delighted to be washed. His hair floofs up into a wild mess as soon as it’s clean and dry, but he hardly notices it between being delighted that you want to take care of him and keep him clean.

Could I please request the Pet Au boys’ reaction to their owner celebrating Christmas with them(or at least attempting to do so)? Thanks very much^-^

Admin Mawile: ヾ(´・ω・`)

Shuu: He’ll do whatever you order him to, and doesn’t care too much whether or not you choose to celebrate human holidays with him.

Reiji: He has no complaints with whatever his owner chooses for him to do, and is highly cooperative with whatever you want.

Ayato: In an attempt to please you, he tries to force himself to get excited about the holiday, hoping that will make you happy with him.

Kanato: He’s completely passive, and will happily do whatever he’s told. If you want to celebrate Christmas with him, that’s what he wants too.

Laito: He knows better than to resist you in any way, and cheerfully goes along with whatever kind of celebration you want to have.

Subaru: He’s a bit nervous about somehow ruining something, but is ridiculously happy that you want to include him in the holiday.

Ruki: He’s perfectly obedient and will do whatever you say. Celebrating with you is a ridiculously easy thing for you to request.

Kou: He’s sort of afraid of what a “celebration” will entail, but worries more about what would happen to him if he denied you.

Yuuma: He doesn’t see any problem with celebrating  human holiday with you. It’s much better than getting punished for disobedience.

Azusa: He’s perfectly content to do whatever you ask, and happily goes along with whatever sort of Christmas celebration you want.

Carla: He’ll do whatever you order, and something that requires as little action as spending Christmas with you will be a simple task.

Shin: He’s a bit unhappy about being forced to participate in a human holiday, but does what you say out of fear of punishment if he doesn’t.

So what’s the societal view on vampires in the pet au? Like how do humans as a group tend to treat vampires, especially vampires that aren’t theirs, and are there protests for vampire rights, and how do vampires as a whole tend to feel about humans, and how do non-vampire-owning humans see vampire-owning humans? ~Jasper

Admin Mawile: ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ Very good questions!

-The general societal view on vampires is pretty similar to how we see exotic pets. They’re fancy, high maintenance, and have the potential to be dangerous, but a lot of people are insistent that they can be safe owning them. They’re expensive to own, as they function similarly to humans, and generally can be seen as something like owning a combination of an expensive breed of purebred cat and a rather large snake; fancy and high quality, but difficult to care for and potentially dangerous.

-Humans generally treat vampires the same as they would animals. They’re known to be trained into safe behavior, and the humans that are comfortable with owning them treat ones that aren’t theirs the same as they would someone else’s large dog; impressive and amazing to see from a distance probably wise to ask before getting too close in case it’s not one of the well trained ones. Humans who don’t like how human vampires look are more likely to keep their distance and just avoid the situation altogether.

-There are probably some people who are in favor of vampire rights, although they’d likely be seen as rather extreme, like a certain animal rights group today. Vampires are generally accepted as too dangerous to be kept in any other way, and most people easily excuse the worst aspects of their treatment with “they’re tough enough to take it” or “it’s the only way to keep them tame”.

-Vampires see humans as something to be feared and respected. Through selective breeding, only the weakest, most compliant ones still exist, and those that are kept in the breeding pool fully believe that it’s their place to be underneath humans. They’re well aware that disobedience will get them killed, and know very well that they have to obey and play nice or risk being put down. Many of them are outright afraid of humans, since they know all too well the kinds of things that happen when one gets mad. Many are even happy to be with an owner that actually takes care of them.

-Humans that don’t own vampires are split between those that just don’t have one, and those that are actively made uncomfortable by the practice. Those that just don’t have one see those that do as we see people with dogs or cats; a normal part of society that they just don’t choose to take part in. Those that don’t like the practice at all are more likely to view it as how we see exotic pets like tigers and monkeys; unsafe and probably a bad idea to mess with.

hi there, could i request tips on taking care of a pet au!azusa? i love both of your work a lot and thank you in advance♡♡

Admin Mawile: ( ・ω・)ノ This was really fun to write!

-Don’t let him talk you into hurting him. As much as he wants it, you can get a lot farther with him by being kind. He’ll get used to not being hurt eventually, and can learn other ways of being shown care.

-Affection will very nearly break him. He’s completely used to only being shown “appreciation” through pain, and genuine kindness will practically make him shut down. Be patient and nice to him, and he’ll learn how to adjust.

-He’ll eat himself sick if you let him, so monitor how much he gets to eat. He’s not used to having food, and will eat anything he’s given.

-All of his scars can be pretty painful at times. As much as he claims to like it, learn the signs and help him when he’s hurting. He’ll be eternally grateful for the care, even if he claims to be fine with the pain.

-He’s likely to try to hide how much pain he’s in in the hopes you’ll hurt him more. Make it very clear that you always expect the truth from him.

-Attention and praise rule him more than anything. If you’re good to him, he’ll do anything you say without the slightest hesitation.

-You’ll probably have to work on his confidence. He sees himself as worthless unless he’s being hurt, and will need a lot of kindness and reassurance to ever see himself in any other way.

-It’s unlikely that he’ll express his needs and wants for fear of being a burden, and you’ll be wise to learn to ask him what he needs from you.

Hi there! I love this blog so, so much! Would I be able to request a scenario of Reiji from the pet au getting complemented by his owner? Thank you!

Admin Mawile: ( ゚▽゚)/

-”You’re really pretty amazing, you know that?”

Those words coming out of your mouth were enough to make Reiji’s brain nearly shut down for a moment. He’d never been praised by a human before, especially not so casually, as if it wasn’t nothing short of glorious.

You were still smiling at him, one hand gently ruffling his hair, and it was all at once quite possibly the best moment of his life.

After years and years of doing everything possible to be good, someone was finally recognizing it. You’d been kind before, but this was almost too much.

“Thank you,” he said, as politely as possible, since you allowed him to speak.

It meant the world to him that someone was willing to acknowledge how hard he worked to be good for them, and that one line of praise was enough to cement his loyalty to you forever.

Can I get the Pet AU boys’ reactions to being adopted by an owner who’s super clumsy (constantly running into things, tripping over seemingly nothing, falling off of things, breaking plates and glasses, burning food, etc.), but they mean well and try their best

Admin Mawile: (*゚ っ゚)ノ゙

Shuu:

-He doesn’t care too much what you’re like; having a real home is much more important than if his new owner is clumsy. He doesn’t really worry about you, and assumes you can take care of yourself.

Reiji:

-It irritates him a bit to see someone so imperfect able to do as they please while he has to fight for anything he has, but he’d never dare voice that. He knows he should be grateful that you want him at all.

Ayato:

-It’s a bit easier to be around a human who makes mistakes too. It feels less like he’ll be punished for doing the slightest thing wrong, because you make plenty of similar mistakes on your own.

Kanato:

-He doesn’t care one bit about the details of his owner’s personality. As long as you want him, he’s happy. It’s a bit worrying that you’re so clumsy, though, especially because you’re the person he has to rely on.

Laito:

-He’s a bit worried that your clumsiness will cause some kind of accident or harm to happen to you, but even that worry is mostly because he doesn’t want to be out of a home once again if you get hurt.

Subaru:

-If he was that clumsy, he’d probably be dead by now. It’s strange to see anyone get away with making so many mistakes, and the whole situation reminds him once again of how little humans have to worry.

Ruki:

-It’s a little better that he has a less perfect owner, because it will surely make his own behavior look better in comparison. He doesn’t really think beyond how he’ll be affected, and doesn’t really care about your side.

Kou:

-You’re still a human, and he’s still terrified of you. Clumsiness doesn’t do a thing to make him less afraid, and he’ll still cower form you all the same. It’s only a little bit better because you seem so harmless.

Yuuma:

-Are you gonna be okay like that? He’s rather worried that you’re going to get hurt for real f that clumsy behavior keeps up, and, since he really doesn’t want to lose his one owner, has good reason for concern.

Azusa:

-He’s highly worried about you, even if he does wonder if the times you get hurt are pleasant. It’s no good if anything bad happens to his owner, and he’ll try to help you in any way he can.

Carla:

-For all he’s worked at being dignified, seeing you be so effortlessly clumsy is pure secondhand embarrassment. He can hardly believe he’s associated with an owner like you, even if he is eternally grateful that you’re kind.

Shin:

-Secretly, he finds it hilarious that you’re so clumsy. It’s pretty nice to see a human making a fool of themself all the time, even if he definitely knows better than to let any of what he thinks slip.

I was wondering this for the longest time now but for the Pet AU what if there owner still went to school, will the pets wait for them or do there house chores, etc

Admin Mawile: ヾ(・∀・*) It really varies by pet, as well as what their owner would order them to do.

Shuu: He mostly sleeps and lazes around, unless he’s been told to do something specific. He honestly likes being left alone.

Reiji: He’s more likely to busy himself with chores or trying to find some way of keeping his owner pleased with him.

Ayato: He tends to get in trouble when left alone, often out of some attempt to do something helpful that goes horribly wrong.

Kanato: He’s most likely to curl up in a corner and stare off into space, occasionally talking to himself when he’s sure no one’s around.

Laito: He does whatever he’s ordered to, and tends to spend his alone time thinking of ways to stay on his owner’s good side.

Subaru: He doesn’t dare do anything but patiently wait for his owner to return, and only does more if directly ordered to.

Ruki: He’s good at keeping himself busy with chores and housework, and enjoys the time without someone watching everything he does.

Kou: The only thing he does when by himself is sleep, trying to escape reality, but often falling right into some horrible nightmare.

Yuuma: He’ll do whatever he’s told to while his owner is gone, but tends to be hesitant about chores for fear of messing something up.

Azusa: He’s most likely to wait right by the door, barely able to function without someone around to tell him what to do.

Carla: He needs all the time he can get to rest, thanks to his illness, and won’t do anything but sleep unless ordered to.

Shin: He greatly enjoys the time without a human around, and takes the chance to rest up and relax while you’re gone.

Ok this might be triggering but what if really depressed owner asks them to bring her some water and at the procces she locks her bedroom door, the boys can hear disturbing noises from inside and then its eerily quite(lets assume in a moment of adreniline they broke the door and saw light from the bathroom and broke it too) what do they do when they see their owner lying in a tub full of blood?

Admin Mawile: (´;д;`)

Shuu:

-If you’re this determined to get rid of yourself, what exactly is he expected to do? If there’s anything he can do to keep you alive, he’ll help, but it’s not like he can control a human. It’d be better for him just to get used to the fact that you’re not going to be around much longer.

Reiji:

-He does not want to lose the one owner who’s shown some kind of affection for him. He’ll do whatever he can to help, and hopefully, whatever you did to yourself won’t be too damaging. He’s a bit afraid of going against your will, but he’d much rather be punished than re-homed.

Ayato:

-He outright panics, and winds up so upset that he cant think to do anything to help. He’s more or less useless in a crisis, especially because he’s not used to having to react to trouble quickly. He doesn’t want to lose you. You’re the first human to be anything resembling nice to him, after all.

Kanato:

-At first, he’s just fascinated by the blood, not really thinking of what it means. He’s rarely all there mentally, and it takes him a little while to realize that this is something you could die from. Once it sets in, he’ll try his best to get help, but has a hard time speaking out to other humans.

Laito:

-Of course, the one human to treat him with anything resembling kindness is going to die. Even if he helps, you’re probably pretty determined to off yourself, so he doesn’t really know what good it would do. He’d hate to lose someone so kind, though, so he’ll at least do something to make sure you make it.

Subaru:

-He panics from the very start, terrified that any attempt of his to help will just make things worse for you. He can’t see himself doing anything but harm in a situation like this, and he’s frozen with the fear that he could actually lose the kindest human he’s ever been able to be near.

Ruki:

-He absolutely does not want to lose out on the best home he’d ever been able to imagine having, and is determined to make sure you’ll survive. He really has no idea what to do to help, though, and winds up being rather clumsy in his attempts, forcing him to seek help from someone else.

Kou:

-The moment he sees blood, he shuts down, curling himself into a tiny ball in the corner and struggling to breathe. Whether he’d want to help or not, there’s little he can think to do when he’s like this, and spends much more time panicking than doing anything that would actually be helpful.

Yuuma:

-He has one of the more practical responses, seeking out help from someone who will actually know what they’re doing. He may know what to do with minor injuries, but this is far beyond anything he’s ever had to deal with. All he can really do is hope that you’re going to make it.

Azusa:

-At first, it doesn’t quite register to him that all the blood is a bad thing. Once it finally sets in, he tries to shake you awake, gentle pressing at your shoulders and hoping you’ll open you’re eyes. He’s not the most helpful, and the gravity of the situation doesn’t really hit him until much later.

Carla:

-Dutifully, he’ll seek out help, hoping that you’re going to be alright. You’re by far the kindest owner he’s ever experienced, and he’d much, much rather you stick around. He just hopes that other humans will be able to talk you out of whatever caused this whole mess in the first place.

Shin:

-A part of him thinks that he should be happy that another human is going to be gone, but then he realizes that he legitimately doesn’t want to lose you. He’ll get help, but hate himself for it later, pride insisting that he shouldn’t have let someone who owns him force him to keep a human alive.
