-Richter is horribly starved for any kind of positive attention. He’s spent his whole life being overlooked in favor of Karlheinz, and while he’s definitely dangerous, it’s worryingly easy to win him over with simply showing interest in him alone. He’s not used to the idea of people wanting him for who he is, and when it finally happens, he gets sucked into the ego boost fast. 

-Like most vampires, he’s stifled his instincts horribly in an attempt to avoid appearing “weak”. The result is that he’s sensitive to attention, and bonds much more quickly than he’d ever admit to. He detests becoming attached to anyone out of fear that they’ll use him and throw him away, but when someone treats him well, he winds up glued to their side so fast it’s almost pathetic. 

-He’s also horribly, dangerously possessive. Richter is very used to having things taken away from him, be it due to circumstances or his own failure, and once he’s attached to you, he’d gladly kill to keep you as his and his alone. He’s a jealous partner who’s prone to rages, and the better you treat him, the more desperate he’ll be to keep you around. A strong bond with someone makes these possessive tendencies much, much worse.
