I’m on my phone so I can’t read the rules so hopefully this is fine. Do you do reactions for the Pet AU? I kinda wanna know what would be their reaction if they actually got adopted. If you don’t then feel free to ignore this. Love ur blog

Admin Mawile: (๑ゝω╹๑) Your request is fine!! And thank you so much!!!

Shuu:

-There’s endless relief at being saved from veritable death row, but the longer he thinks about what kind of person would want a pet with his history of laziness and faults, the more nervous he becomes.

Reiji:

-Of course he did! He’s done everything to be the best pet possible, of course someone finally found him worth buying. Inside, he’s so relieved he could cry. He won’t be put down, he won’t die for being useless

Ayato:

-A sort of happy-shock, ecstatic that all his work and training and good breeding could finally pay off, but still wondering what kind of person was willing to look past his age and other flaws.

Kanato:

-Literally crying with joy, thinking of all the ways he can please them and avoid further pain. He can be good, he can be so good, and whoever’s adopting him will have to be happy enough to not want to hurt him anymore.

Laito:

-Happy, but worried about the all new traumas he knows could be coming. Humans are cruel, and while having an owner saves him from certain death, but owners can do things even more painful if he’s not good enough.

Subaru:

-He’s somewhere between amazed and terrified. Subaru can’t believe anyone would want him, but considering his status as unsafe to adopt, whoever has must be one of the illegal, feared fighting rings or some kind of hard labor.

Ruki:

-If his brothers aren’t safe, he’d do anything to escape or be thrown out again. Even if it’s a good home, he couldn’t live happily while the others are alone on the streets. He’d rather die with them than live knowing that he left them.

Kou:

Scared half to death. Humans have never done anything but hurt him. Being taken into one of their homes just means whoever has him is going to have all the power and resources they need to hurt him even more.

Yuuma:

-He’s in a state of disbelief, unable to understand what would make an owner want him. Unless they’re just going to work him to death or use him in fights, make use of his strength for the rest of the short life he’d have.

Azusa:

-He’s happy, so happy to be wanted and have a home, but owners are still so scary. If they don’t like him, he could be forgotten about, locked up or thrown away and never wanted again.

Carla:

-What if they weren’t told about his illness? If he, a precious First Blood, turns out to be such a disappointment to an owner, and was still stuck with them, the slow death he’s succumbing to would be nothing in comparison.

Shin:

-Being saved from death row is wonderful, but after the incident with his eye, he’s more than wary of any new owners. He has to be good, good enough that they can’t justify hurting him any more.

I have a question for all the Sakamaki brothers: What is the most annoying thing someone can do? Thank you for your time!

Admin Mawile: (/ ‘з’)/

Shuu:

-Waking him up, being too noisy, not letting him sleep, the list goes on. Shuu doesn’t care what you do as much as some of his brothers might, but if you disturb his sleep in any way, it’s an almost guaranteed route to his ire. Siding with Reiji is the only other thing that comes close.

Reiji:

-His list of annoyances is a mile long and so perfectionistic it’s almost unbelievable. From not showing him enough respect, to making tea incorrectly, there are a thousand things that can anger him. Of all of them, though, intentionally causing him trouble and extra work is probably the worst.

Ayato:

-Ayato is pretty short-tempered, and takes offence at all kinds of seemingly harmless behavior, but the worst thing to him would have to be making fun of him or openly disrespecting him. He’s the best, got it? Any words or actions that imply anything else won’t be tolerated.

Kanato:

-Really, what doesn’t annoy him? If you so much as breathe wrong, Kanato will find some way to be angry about it. Anything and everything can set him off, with no more warning than what kind of mood he’s in. Any harm to Teddy makes him the angriest, but that’s more of a death sentence than an annoyance.

Laito:

-Laito is a lot less unaffected than he usually lets on, but even so, he doesn’t tend to get annoyed at minor slights. It’s more fun to laugh them off… then surprise the offender with a little torture later. About the only thing that makes him visibly angry is any kind of contest to his constructed world view.

Subaru:

-His annoyance is frequent and violent, most often brought on by something as simple as minor distress. Subaru’s main reaction to anything he doesn’t like or want to deal with is rage, so it’s absurdly easy to annoy him. Don’t push too far, though, or you’ll be stuck with one violent vampire.

What would happen if the Regular! Diaboys + Yui met the Pet! (+Yui) and Xeno! Diaboys (and their Yui of she has any differences) at once. What would everyone’s reaction towards each other?

Admin Mawile:╰(・∇・╰)

Yui:

-Yui is more than a little horrified of what’s become of her tormentors in this universe. They may have been cruel, but does any creature deserve to be treated so horribly? It seems that the most her other self can do to help is volunteer to pick up the pieces.

-Pet Au!Yui can hardly believe there’s a world where vampires prey upon humans. As sickening as their treatment is, the creatures she’s known seem hardly capable of such violent measures. Couldn’t there be a world where both sides get along, without one oppressing the other?

Shuu:

-This version of himself is wrong. He couldn’t be that broken, could he? Shuu has seen and felt his share of misery, but the look of sheer torment in his own eyes jabs at something inside of him that aches. It’s wrong, it’s so wrong, and Shuu would most rather go back to sleep and pretend this never existed.

-There are differences, yes, but to Pet Au!Shuu, he and his alternate universe counterpart are very similar. He can’t imagine acting so bold or antagonistic, but the desire to go to sleep and never wake up, to escape the unbearable life he’s stuck in is the same in both of them, to him.

Reiji:

-The sight of himself, a pitiful, desperate wreck almost makes Reiji physically ill. All the worst parts of himself, the most shameful fears that he’s done nothing but bury and hide, are all displayed in this creature’s eyes so plainly, so openly, it’s beyond painful to even be near.

-Pet Au!Reiji is both amazed and sickened by his other self. He’d never imagined he could look so… composed, have such perfect control over his visible self. But at the same time, this other him is doing so little with the home and safety he has, wasting the chance that this Reiji would die for.

Ayato:

-Ayato couldn’t be more horrified. This version of himself brings back all the worst memories of a time when he was just as afraid, memories that he’d much rather never have to think of again. All Ayato wants to do is stay far away from this ruined, miserable self.

-Pet Au!Ayato is somewhere between shocked and horribly envious. This alternate universe version of himself is loud, arrogant, rude, everything that he would have been beaten or killed for. It’s wrong, it’s horrible, but he can’t help but covet that kind of freedom.

Kanato:

-Seeing himself acting like a broken little doll is disturbing in all the wrong ways. It’s his own face with such a miserable, pitiful look on it, and Kanato can hardly stand it. He’d shove his alternate universe self away in an instant, a little too aware of the last time he himself had such an expression.

-Pet Au!Kanato hardly resisters that what he’s seeing is real. He’s convinced it’s just another hallucination, brought on by exhaustion and pain. He’d never dare make such an angry, disrespectful face, especially not where a human could see it and enact punishment.

Laito:

-Laito sees things in his alternate universe self that he’s been trying to suppress for decades, and it does not sit well. Something about the vulnerable, broken look in his eyes is sickening, and he can’t stand looking at this pathetic “him” for long.

-Pet Au!Laito can’t believe he could ever be so… carefree. His alternate self smiles and laughs and truly makes it seem like nothing’s wrong, something he himself could never quite manage, and yet, there’s a matching deep in this one’s eyes too, an exact parallel of his own.

Subaru:

-His first reaction is rage. Seeing himself a veritable mirror of the pain and anxiety that’s always boiled deep within him is unbearable. Subaru would yell, fly into his usual violent behavior, anything not to think about the anguish is his, no, that thing’s eyes.

-Pet Au! Subaru reacts much the same. Violence, anger, anything to cover up how distressed he is at the sight of a double. Although, he understands why this one hates him so much, as pathetic, worthless as he is, no wonder even himself doesn’t want anything to do with him.

Ruki:

-He’s repulsed, sickened. As if the brands weren’t bad enough, seeing what may as well be himself, covered in scars and with a broken look Ruki never would have thought himself capable of. He’d thought he trained himself out of such weak reactions, but a fresh wave of nausea and pain surge at the sight.

-Pet Au!Ruki can see that even though this him isn’t anywhere near as ruined, they’re more similar than either of them want to think about. Seeing his every weakness reflected back at him like a mirror is beyond unpleasant, the look of shock and terror in his double’s eyes bringing back painful memories.

Kou:

-The sight of this destroyed version of himself sends Kou into a near panic attack. He can feel it, all at once, upon looking at “himself”, all the memories of his torture come flooding back with a vengeance. Possibly the worst of all are the two dark holes where this self’s fangs should have been.

-Chances are Pet Au!Kou would be hardly lucid enough to really take in his alternate universe self. He’d most likely see it as another nightmare, a vision sent to taunt him with everything he’s lost. The sickened expression on his other’s face just proves he’s here to torment.

Yuuma:

-It’s… bizarre. No matter how Yuuma looks at it, a him that’s quiet and out of the way just doesn’t make any sense. So he tells himself it isn’t real, that there’s no way this pitiful apparition could ever be him. (Better that, than think about where all those unfamiliar scars could have come from.)

-Pet Au!Yuuma is well and truly jealous. This alternate universe version of himself has everything he ever wanted and then some. He can’t quite bring himself to act on it (lashing out against someone stronger is a death sentence, he knows), but the anger won’t quit churning.

Azusa:

-His first thought is how much pain this other self must have been through, and how much he wishes it could have been him instead. But, if this person is really him, than isn’t he pleased to have hurt so much? For someone who gets to have pain every day, he doesn’t seem very happy.

-While Pet Au!Azusa loves pain just as much as his counterpart, there are some kinds that aren’t good at all. This him understands the good hurt like no one else has, but… there’s something different, his attitude too pushy, he can’t make a very good pet like that…

Carla:

-Carla can’t tell whether he’s angry or horrified. There’s something so wrong (familiar) about the pained, broken look in his double’s eyes. He can’t be this, he can’t, there’s no way he could ever look so weak. Carla doesn’t stick around long, unable to even look his other self in the eye.

-Pet Au!Carla has a similar, but much more subdued reaction. There’s a sense of horror, that this can’t be him, followed up by the sickening revelation that even in a world where he’s more than a pricey pet, he’s still doomed to die from the same disease, still falling victim to the same flaws.

Shin:

-First and foremost, it’s infuriating. How can he possibly look so weak?! It’s wrong, it’s disgusting! But then, Shin sees the holes where fangs should be, the grotesque scars around his eyes, and everything crashes down. Then it’s not anger he’s feeling, but some awful mix of terror and nausea.

-This “him” got to live as a prince, huh? If he hadn’t had it beaten out of him before, Pet Au!Shin would be fuming. But he’s been trained, he knows better than to get angry with a superior by now, so he bows his head and looks away as his vicious double hurls insults.

Oh wow, this blog is so interesting, I absolutely love it! You’re both doing such an awesome job! I was wondering if the guys were to get an ‘owner’ in the Pet AU, how would they act towards them? Also I noticed you mentioned within this AU that there’s a custom of defanging; have any of the guys had their fangs removed? Thanks and I hope you both have a great day :)

Admin Mawile: Σ(ノ°▽°)ノ Thank you!!!

First to answer the de-fanging bit: Subaru has likely lost his for being “dangerous”. He has quite the history of acting out, and to make him supposedly safer to own, his fangs were taken out as a young teen, about the time the outbursts started. Yuuma has his out for similar reasons. When he was in the shelter, his sheer size made him too intimidating for most people to consider adopting, so his fangs were removed to make him seem like less of a threat. Kou’s were removed by his torturers at the shelter, for little reason other than that they found the helplessness and the sight of it appealing. Finally, Shin’s were taken out after a certain incident, to make up for him having been returned once, and to ensure to potential buyers that he was no harm.

Shuu:

-Much, much less lazy. He’s still lethargic and constantly tired, but the pressure that keeping this new chance at life he’s been given instills is too great to lose. He stays quiet and out of the way, but gains a newfound desire to make himself useful, anything to keep from being sent back.

Reiji:

-With a real owner, Reiji becomes, if possible, even more desperate to please. He finally has what he’s been striving for for years, and he’d do anything not to have it taken away. He’s almost overbearing with it, constantly pushing to do something to please his new owner, overly eager to prove his worth.

Ayato:

-He’s pushy, trying to force his way into their favor in any way he can. Having and owner, being an object of value to a human is the only thing he’s lived for, and he’s desperate to get there. No matter what he has to go through to get there, he has to be important to them.

Kanato:

-Honestly, he’s terrified. Being someone’s prized possession is what he’s been raised for, but humans have done nothing but cause him pain. He can’t get over the trained fear that any contact from a human means hurt, all he can think about is what horrible things this new person could do to him.

Laito:

-Laito is surprisingly well behaved. He stays out of trouble more than most of his brothers, and with an owner, he’d be just as good. That perfect behavior comes at a heavy cost to his mental state, but what’s a little more suffering if it can save him from something worse?

Subaru:

-If anyone adopted him, chance are they’re part of an illegal fighting ring, or something equally horrible. Subaru has been deemed unsalable, so bad that no normal owner would ever want him. He’d try, though, if anyone would give him another chance, he’d try so hard to be good this time.

Ruki:

-Ruki knows how to behave. The only reason he doesn’t have an owner is his status as a a mutt and a stray. In a real home (and if he was sure his brothers were safe), he’d be an excellent pet, quiet, obedient, and willing to suppress his own fear and pain to do what’s expected of him.

Kou:

-Humans, owners have caused Kou more pain than anything. He can’t even function anymore, what more do they want to take from him? He’s too afraid to hardly be in the same room as them, hysteric with the fear that he’s going to be hurt again, like he was at the shelter.

Yuuma:

-He genuinely tries to be obedient, to stay out of the way and look harmless, but his size, strength and rough nature make it hard. Humans have never liked how intimidating he is, and if taking out his teeth wasn’t enough to prove he’s safe to own, what would be?

Azusa:

-He’s almost instinctively wary around humans, so used to them wanting him out of their sight it’s almost second nature to hide. He’s slow, but accepting (a little too accepting) of whatever pain and punishment an owner feels necessary, so pliant and obedient it’s more creepy than pleasing.

Carla:

-Carla has been literally trained from birth to be the best pet possible. He’s a near perfect example of the right combination of out of the way and eager to please, quiet and inoffensive, yet composed and obedient. If it wasn’t for his illness and the weakness it causes him, he’d be almost the ideal.

Shin:

-His rebellious days are behind him, okay? He learned his lesson the first time and he’d never be that bad again. He’s well trained and safe now, even with an eye out he’s still pretty and he’d be so good. If an owner took a chance on him again, they’d never regret it.

Ayato’s reaction to finding his S/O bleeding!

Admin Skitty: To be quite honest I’m not sure whether or not you were requesting for canon Ayato or any of our Au’s specifically…so I came to wonder what a great opportunity this might be to present the differences in personality he would showcase due to situational circumstances so, I hope you find this to your liking.

Canon Ayato:
– It’s no question that Ayato in canon will take as he pleases. I’d like to say that depending on the circumstances of your relationship the manor of how he would take it, is a whole other issue of itself. Chances are he’ll be cheeky or demanding of your blood since by default you ‘belong’ to ‘Ore-sama’. Now if you’re saying in the situation of you being physically injured such as stabbed and you’re dealing with a serious wound here, then Ayato is more likely to worry, but not make it as evident due to his arrogant demeanor he presents himself with. I could see Ayato taking care of his S/O (as well as punishing anyone who would inflict an injury on them) but not being irrational to his lover’s bleeding. He may ask the advice of Reiji and request medicine, but depending on how attached he’s become to you, your life is likely his main priority and there’s no way the great ‘Ore-sama’ would let you die of something as simple as a stab wound.

Pet Au Ayato:
– In this world it must be understood that the pets see themselves as lesser equals to their owners. To enter any form of relationship that is not of ‘pet and master’ is foreign to them and can be a harrowing experience or a joyful one. Pet Ayato in a case in which his s/o is bleeding, in any circumstance, is likely going to be much more stressed and anxious over the well-being of his owner. Due to his docile nature and what the pets have been brainwashed to believe, his understanding of your relationship is going to be a blurry aspect for him. And may result in him internally blaming himself for your injury no matter how small, constantly berating himself and forming these mental processes that it’s entirely his fault, and that there is no doubt he’ll be punished by you; no matter how good you may treat him. He will do as instructed, but will not help you unless requested. For the thought of disobeying an order and being punished, or even worse, disowned is one of his absolute fears. Especially by the person who treats him with the most care.

oooh more about pet au ayato’s personality please???

Admin Mawile: (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

-So in canon, Ayato has an obsession with being the best brought on by his mother’s abuse and pressuring. In this Au, he has a similar complex. He’s convinced that he’s superior, and uses that false arrogance as a defense mechanism; if he’s not the best, he’s nothing, so he has to be the best. Here, Ayato’s pride is twisted around his good breeding, and the knowledge that if he doesn’t prove to be worth buying, he’ll be as good as dead. He’s completely obsessed with being good at what he is, being a good enough pet to find an owner and not be killed for being useless. He still acts arrogant, but it’s a desperate farce, the last thing keeping him from snapping completely.

-At the same time though, he’s much more submissive and unstable, especially around humans. There’s never been any guarantee on his life, and the stress of knowing that any bad enough mistake could be the end of him has left Ayato jumpy and desperate to please. Humans make him nervous; they’re the ones with the power in his little world, and the ones that he’s known so far have been cruel, short tempered, and hard to please. He knows that he has to keep them happy somehow, but it’s so hard to figure out what they want of him, and no amount of believing he’s the best will do any good against their painful, confusing expectations and rules.

What do the Sakamaki boys look for in a S/O? Personality, appearance.

Admin Mawile: (*・▽・*) First, I have to clarify: they could like anyone. There are things that they’re attracted to at first, but it’s completely possible for them to wind up loving someone who’s even the complete opposite, okay?

Shuu:

-He would like someone quiet, a little shy, and fun to tease, a bit nervous, but independent enough not to cling on him. But the most important thing is that they leave him alone when he’s asleep. As for appearance, he rather likes the cute and innocent.

Reiji:

-He’s downright demanding about his partner being intelligent and well-mannered. Appearance doesn’t mean anywhere near as much as if you can meet his ridiculously high standards. However, he does have a bit of favor for classy, traditional looks.

Ayato:

-Personality wise, he’d be most interested in someone a bit wild, who’s more likely to go along with what he thinks is fun than try to hold him back or argue. As for appearance… .does it really need saying? We all know what physical trait he looks for.

Kanato:

-He would likely go for someone obedient and soft willed, who would cave to his demands and do whatever he wanted them to. Kanato would probably like someone a bit insecure too. Looks wise, Kanato would most likely go for someone pretty, doll-like and almost fragile.

Laito:

-Laito isn’t picky about looks or personality. He likes interesting people, unique in some outstanding way that makes them stand out from the rest of the world. Keeping his attention is the most important thing you can do, and no one “type” has any advantage at that.

Subaru:

-Subaru would probably like a sensible, caring kind of person. Someone stable and forgiving enough to handle his mood swings, yet practical enough to not get caught up in them. Physically, he likes sweet, pretty looks, soft features and and a gentle air.

Pet AU: What are the Diaboys’ daily lives?

Admin Mawile: (o゜◇゜)ノ

Shuu:

-He mostly tries to stay out of the way and not do anything to warrant punishing. Shuu would rather sleep in a dark corner somewhere and be forgotten about than risk making an owner angry, and he’s gotten pretty good at escaping notice.

Reiji:

-Typically, pets are either left in solitary confinement, caged, or with each other when not otherwise needed. Reiji rarely does anything to earn solitary confinement or extra restraint, so most of his time is spent in the same holding room as whichever of his brothers aren’t in trouble at the time.

Ayato:

-He does try to behave, but his efforts frequently do more harm than good. Thus, Ayato is often in some kind of punishment, whether directly delivered by an owner, or left in isolation to keep him out of the way. Most trainers dislike dealing with him due to his excitable, impulsive nature.

Kanato:

-Kanato is easily upset and often incoherent, so (for his own safety, as it’s said), he’s often kept well restrained and/or by himself. Unfortunately, the isolation makes him even more unstable, creating a vicious cycle of acting out and suffering the consequences for it.

Laito:

-Since he’s mostly well behaved, Laito doesn’t spend a lot of time locked away by himself. He’s known for being obedient and easy to deal with, so he’s often allowed to stay with his brothers and relatively unrestrained. However, his minuscule amount of freedom doesn’t do him a lot of good.

Subaru:

-Because of his violent outbursts, he spends a lot of time in solitary confinement, which basically entails being alone and tightly restrained in a small, dark room where he can’t bother anyone. Since he’s been deemed unsafe to own, no one really cares what happens to him anymore.

Ruki:

-He and his brothers spend every day trying to survive. If they’re caught by humans, they’d be killed, and finding food and shelter while avoiding capture is no easy feat. Since Ruki is the appointed “leader”, it’s become his responsibility to make sure they succeed.

Kou:

-Thanks to the years’ worth of traumas (both physical and mental) he’s accumulated, most days, Kou can’t do much more than curl up and try to make it through the nightmares. Even something so seemingly simple as sitting up at the wrong time can set off a chain of panic and pain.

Yuuma:

-Helping Ruki take care of the weaker two, mostly. Since he’s bigger, stronger, and more alert than Azusa, Ruki usually takes him on their food missions. Humans are much more aware (and wary) of him due to his intimidating figure, though, so he has to be very careful when out.

Azusa:

-Azusa is weak and spacey enough that Ruki doesn’t want him anywhere dangerous or demanding, so his job is usually keeping an eye on Kou, and making sure he doesn’t injure himself or have to be by himself when he’s stuck in one of his frequent nightmares.

Carla:

-Since his illness started to weaken him, Carla has been left out of anything thought to be too harsh for him. In an attempt to slow the progression of the illness and keep his body from further stress, he’s mostly left alone to rest. And yet, he remains exhausted and pained more often than not.

Shin:

-With his brother mostly out of commission, Shin is the one who has to do more. Aside from the daily training (to make sure he’s always well behaved and ready to sell), he’s often shown off to interested parties as a rare, well bred First Blood, lower quality younger brother he may be.

So if pets that don’t get sold get put down, how close are the guys to that?

Admin Mawile: (*´-`*)

Shuu:

-Sadly, pretty close. He’s lethargic and reserved, and so far from an ideal, eager-to-please pet that coupled with him nearing adulthood, his seller doesn’t want to waste much more time and resources on him.

Reiji:

-Actually, other than his age, Reiji doesn’t have a lot of reasons why he shouldn’t be purchased. His worry about being put down is mostly paranoia, but the day very well could be coming.

Ayato:

-As obsessed as Ayato is with being worth something to an owner, no one has yet to show any interest. Well trained or not, no seller wants to keep wasting time and effort on one of the many that just doesn’t sell.

Kanato:

-He’s plenty well-behaved, but his strange, disconnected personality has put off all potential buyers. If no one takes an interest soon, well, there isn’t anyone who really wants to keep him alive.

Laito:

-Laito’s main problem is his age. His good breeding and temperament have gotten him this far, but he’s aging out of the window where anyone would be willing to adopt. His chances still aren’t bad, though.

Subaru:

-It could happen any day. Subaru has a history of violent behavior, and no good pet is dangerous. He’s been removed from the adoption list, and if no less-than-legal buyer takes him, he’s done for.

Ruki:

-As strays, he and his brothers would be subject to instant disposal. Ruki’s temperament is fine, but his scarred, branded body, poor pedigree, and history of being an escaped stray strip away any worth he may have had.

Kou:

-If the four of them are found, chances are he would be killed immediately. His body is scarred and broken, and his mind just as destroyed. There’s very little to Kou left that would have any value to an owner.

Yuuma:

-All strays are just out of luck, of course, but Yuuma has even more hurting his chances. His burn scars and large size make him look more like a torn up fighter than any kind of pet.

Azusa:

-Azusa is more than obedient enough for a seeming untrained stray, but no one would want a pet as damaged as him. Even as eager to please as he is, there’d be no hesitation to just get rid of him.

Carla:

-No one wants to put a purebred First Blood down, especially not one as well trained as Carla is. But his illness takes away a lot of value, and his breeder is considering just cutting his losses and getting rid of defective merchandise.

Shin:

-His missing eye may be a bit of a problem, but Shin is still doing pretty well. As long as he doesn’t get really unlucky, he should find an owner long before anyone seriously considers getting rid of him.

Sorry, I didn’t realize you guys were doing only those AUs! I took it as those were AUs you were doing as well as regular requestions and things! How do the Sakamaki boys feel being a pet?

Admin Mawile: (*゚∀゚*) Oh no we write for canon too! I’ll always have the themes/headcanons of Xeno Au included in my stuff (unless specified otherwise), and Skitty just writes whatever she thinks fits! Requests that don’t center around our Aus are totally fine~ We do prefer that you specify what you want, though.

Shuu:

-Honestly Shuu would almost rather be dead. The abuse and isolation are miserable, and since he’s not good enough to have a home, his life isn’t worth a thing. There’s no chance anyone would buy him, so they might as well just get it over with and kill him.

Reiji:

-The stress of always having to please someone (or risk losing meals/a home/his life for not being worth keeping) about makes him sick. He’s desperate to prove his worth to somebody, no matter how much he has to suffer, he can’t just be disposed of.

Ayato:

-He wants an owner. It’d save him from being put down and, of course, it’s the best thing that could ever happen to him. And he does everything he can to be a good pet! But it doesn’t seem to be working. He’s getting older (not a cute kid anymore) and his time is starting to run out…

Kanato:

-Kanato just doesn’t want to hurt anymore. When he tried to resist being a pet, it just made everything worse, so it has to be the best choice to be one. At this point, he’d do about anything to avoid being punished again. He’d be so good if anyone gave him the chance, just don’t make anything hurt.

Laito:

-As in canon, Laito sticks strongly to the worldview he’s ingrained with. He knows that he’s supposed to be someone’s pet, and anything that challenged that idea would be unbearable. He has a role, and as excruciating as it is, his mind couldn’t take any change.

Subaru:

-Well, at first he didn’t really want to be one, be he learned quickly just how little choice in the matter was his. Now, Subaru just wants someone to buy him before he’s gotten rid of. He’s not a very good pet, and he probably doesn’t have much time left.
